The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Service Technician based in United States.

This role provides hands-on field service support for high-voltage products and equipment across customer sites in North America. You will install, commission, maintain, and service standard HV products while working primarily within substations and network facilities. The position combines technical fieldwork with customer service, documentation, troubleshooting, and close coordination with operational teams. You will help ensure field projects stay on schedule while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently in demanding field environments. You will receive relevant product and safety training while developing your technical expertise across installation, commissioning, and servicing activities. This is a highly mobile opportunity with up to 70% travel, offering exposure to diverse customer sites and technically challenging field projects.

Accountabilities:

  • Represent the organization professionally in the field, keeping customer needs at the center of project execution and ensuring field activities remain on track.
  • Install and commission standard high-voltage products across assigned customer locations in North America.
  • Perform general servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for standard HV products.
  • Work safely within live substations and network facilities while following all applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Complete required technical, product, and external health and safety training and maintain all relevant training requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with Field Service and Operations teams to support efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of field activities.
  • Report completed work, work orders, service appointments, and relevant field updates to the appropriate management and operational teams.
  • Prepare accurate reports documenting field activities and communicate findings to operational stakeholders.
  • Monitor and communicate customer satisfaction before, during, and after service activities.
  • Support the non-conformance and issue-management process by applying critical thinking, gathering relevant customer feedback, and ensuring information is passed to the appropriate teams for verification and analysis.
  • Identify and communicate technical or operational issues that may affect project schedules, service quality, or customer outcomes.
  • Take on additional duties and field-service responsibilities appropriate to the role as required.
  • Travel extensively to customer locations, with up to 70% travel potentially required.
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or 5 years of field experience in a comparable role.
  • Previous experience in a field service, installation, commissioning, maintenance, or technically related position.
  • Experience working with electrical, mechanical, or high-voltage products and systems is relevant to the role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose issues and develop practical solutions in field environments.
  • Good IT proficiency and strong documentation-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude with a genuine willingness to learn new products, technologies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication and coordination with remote operational teams.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours and weekends when required by customer or project needs.
  • Current driver’s license and passport required, with the ability to travel throughout the assigned region and potentially to other customer locations.
  • Previous experience with communication protocols and carriers is desirable.
  • Experience with software and hardware solutions is a plus.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking skills and the ability to assess technical or operational issues effectively.
  • Previous experience working directly with customers and delivering satisfactory technical outcomes is preferred.
  • Commitment to health, safety, environmental, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Smart and remote working options.
  • Subsidized gym and wellness program.
  • Technical training and opportunities to develop expertise in HV product installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Exposure to diverse customer sites and technically challenging field projects across North America.
  • Opportunity to work closely with field service, operations, and customer-facing teams.
  • Significant hands-on responsibility and opportunities for professional development.
  • A collaborative environment built around teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, and doing the right thing.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
