The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Freelance SEO Copywriter (Indian English) based in India.

This is a fully remote freelance opportunity for an SEO-focused copywriter creating high-quality travel content for an Indian audience. You will write and localize search-driven articles covering destinations, hotels, car hire, booking advice, and other travel topics. A key part of the role is adapting UK and US English content into natural, culturally relevant Indian English rather than simply changing spelling or terminology. You will work from structured SEO briefs and style guidelines while balancing search intent, readability, accuracy, and brand voice. The role offers ongoing project work within a global content environment and the opportunity to contribute to content designed to perform in search. It is particularly well suited to an experienced writer who combines strong editorial instincts with practical SEO knowledge.

Accountabilities

  • Localize existing UK and US English articles into natural, authentic Indian English, adapting tone, terminology, phrasing, and cultural references for the Indian market.
  • Write and optimize travel-focused blog articles of approximately 1,500 words based on detailed SEO and keyword briefs.
  • Create engaging content covering topics such as car hire, hotel fees, booking advice, travel planning, and city guides.
  • Apply SEO best practices throughout content, including keyword placement, search intent alignment, headings, on-page structure, and relevant metadata.
  • Follow established editorial guidelines and maintain a consistent tone and style across all assigned content.
  • Research topics thoroughly and support factual claims with reliable, credible sources.
  • Adapt content for the way Indian travelers search for, evaluate, and book travel products and services.
  • Review and refine localized content to ensure it reads naturally for Indian audiences while preserving the original article's intent and key information.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality assignments within agreed deadlines and turnaround times.
  • Incorporate editorial and SEO feedback to continuously improve content quality and search performance.
  • Native-level Indian English proficiency, with a strong understanding of Indian language conventions, cultural context, consumer behavior, and travel-search habits.
  • Proven professional experience in SEO copywriting, with a practical understanding of keyword placement, search intent, content structure, and on-page optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to write engaging, accurate, and well-structured long-form content for online audiences.
  • Experience localizing or adapting content from UK or US English into Indian English, with an emphasis on natural language and cultural relevance.
  • Strong research and fact-checking skills, including the ability to identify and use reliable sources.
  • Excellent understanding of how to balance SEO requirements with readability, editorial quality, and audience engagement.
  • Experience creating travel, hospitality, tourism, consumer, or comparison content is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work confidently from SEO briefs, keyword requirements, headings, metadata guidance, and established style guides.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when editing, localizing, proofreading, and maintaining consistency.
  • Reliable and organized approach to freelance work, with the ability to meet agreed deadlines consistently.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment and managing ongoing project assignments.
  • A portfolio or examples of SEO, travel, consumer, or localized content are highly desirable.
  • Fully remote freelance opportunity based in India.
  • Ongoing project work with the potential for a long-term freelance engagement.
  • Opportunity to create content for a global travel search and comparison audience.
  • Flexible freelance working environment with project-based assignments.
  • Exposure to international SEO, content localization, and search-focused editorial workflows.
  • Opportunity to work across a broad range of travel topics and destinations.
  • Clear SEO briefs and established editorial guidelines to support consistent content production.
  • Opportunity to build experience creating content specifically tailored to the Indian travel market.
  • Structured onboarding process following successful completion of the selection process.
  • Project rates and engagement details shared with shortlisted candidates before proceeding.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
