This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Delivery, AI Operations based in United States.
As Head of Delivery, AI Operations, you will lead the delivery of complex AI services supporting the development and evaluation of next-generation AI systems. You will oversee training data collection and annotation, adversarial testing, model evaluation, and AI safety review programs. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution across global delivery teams and multiple workforce models. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to define high-quality solutions, establish production protocols, and continuously improve delivery performance. A major focus will be Physical AI, including robotics and world model development, in an environment where technology and requirements evolve rapidly. You will champion experimentation, automation, testing, and scalable processes while building a high-performance culture across teams. This is an opportunity to shape AI operations at scale while solving ambiguous, high-impact problems in a fast-moving global environment.
Accountabilities:
- AI Service Delivery: Lead the delivery of AI services including data collection and annotation, adversarial testing, model evaluation, and AI content safety moderation, ensuring consistently high-quality outcomes.
- Global Operations Leadership: Manage and develop a global team of Operations Managers, driving on-time, cost-effective delivery while meeting or exceeding customer quality expectations.
- Customer & Commercial Partnership: Collaborate with Sales Enablement and Business Development teams to scope opportunities, develop delivery solutions, and support proposals for new client engagements.
- Production Model Development: Design and oversee specialized operating protocols across different delivery models, including full-time employees in global centers, remote workers, and freelance contributors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality, Training, PMO, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to improve automation, strengthen workflows, and expand the ability to deliver reliable AI outcomes.
- Operational Excellence: Establish a culture of testing, iteration, and continuous improvement, ensuring processes remain efficient, scalable, measurable, and focused on results.
- Team & Performance Culture: Foster an environment of continuous learning, accountability, experimentation, and high performance across a globally distributed organization.
- Operations Leadership: 7+ years of operations leadership experience, ideally within organizations delivering HITL, RLHF, evaluation, or related AI services for advanced AI, autonomous vehicle, or robotics environments.
- AI & Generative AI Expertise: Strong understanding of large language models, generative AI workflows, and multimodal data structures, including video, spatial, and sensor-fusion data relevant to robotics.
- Technology Curiosity: Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI technologies and hands-on curiosity about emerging tools, platforms, and techniques, with a willingness to explore how new technologies can improve operational outcomes.
- Physical AI Interest: Strong interest in and commitment to learning about the latest developments in robotics, Physical AI, and related technologies.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the confidence to engage customers, internal stakeholders, and globally distributed teams.
- High-Velocity Management: Proven experience leading teams in fast-paced environments with a strong focus on measurable outcomes, execution, and accountability.
- Problem Solving: Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity while continuously testing, iterating, and scaling effective solutions.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and translate insights into actionable operational improvements.
- Salary: Annual base salary range of $156,000–$234,000, with actual compensation determined by qualifications, experience, skills, and geographic location.
