You will serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and help business teams turn operational challenges into scalable technology solutions. The role also offers the opportunity to leverage AI and automation to improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance employee productivity. You will work closely with IT, Security, Engineering, program teams, and business stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced systems engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and continuously improving enterprise technology.

Accountabilities

  • Administer and maintain core enterprise platforms, including Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, Slack, Claude, GitHub, and other critical SaaS applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations between SaaS platforms and internal systems, including SSO and other identity-based integrations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for IT Support, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues while documenting solutions and operational procedures.
  • Triage and manage incoming IT Infrastructure requests, translating business requirements into effective system configurations, integrations, and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency through systems design, workflow automation, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Manage infrastructure as code and contribute to scalable, repeatable infrastructure management practices.
  • Oversee data, security, and governance processes while maintaining compliance with security standards and best practices, including least-privilege access, patching, multifactor authentication, and VPN controls.
  • Monitor system health proactively, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot advanced technical problems before they affect business operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems and changes, supporting effective incident and change management.
  • Contribute to and lead technology projects focused on measurable business value, reliability, scalability, and employee experience.
  • Enable the effective adoption of AI tools and automation across internal workflows to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering within a distributed or enterprise IT environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience administering core enterprise platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, GitHub, Slack, and similar SaaS technologies.
  • Experience managing infrastructure as code using technologies such as Terraform or GitOps methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management systems, services, and protocols, including SAML, SCIM, LDAP, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.
  • Experience building workflow automations using platforms such as Okta Workflows, Jira Automations, Slack Workflows, or comparable tools.
  • An AI-first mindset, including practical experience enabling tools such as Claude and ChatGPT for colleagues and incorporating AI into personal and team workflows.
  • Scripting experience in Python and/or shell scripting; Python is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of security and compliance methodologies, with experience supporting security incident response processes and tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex systems issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, IT teams, program managers, leaders, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards for reliability and security.
  • A proactive approach to technology, with a demonstrated interest in mentoring others, improving processes, and delivering high-quality internal services.
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Expected total cash compensation of $145,400–$188,100 for candidates in the San Francisco/Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metropolitan areas.
  • Expected total cash compensation of $130,900–$169,400 for candidates in Austin, Washington, DC, or California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington State.
  • Expected total cash compensation of $123,300–$159,500 for candidates in other U.S. locations.
  • Compensation may include base salary and variable pay, depending on role structure and eligibility.
  • Actual compensation is determined based on factors including job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency.
  • Opportunity to work with modern SaaS, identity, cloud, automation, and AI technologies.
  • Collaborative environment with close partnerships across IT, Security, Engineering, and business teams.
  • Opportunities to contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects and improve the technology experience for a distributed workforce.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
