  • Repair Engineering: Design permanent and temporary repair solutions for piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment in accordance with applicable industry standards and codes.
  • Engineering Standards: Apply relevant ASME and API standards to equipment design, repair, integrity assessments, and specifications.
  • Corrosion and Failure Analysis: Use knowledge of corrosion damage mechanisms and failure modes to develop reliable and technically appropriate equipment solutions.
  • Reliability Engineering: Apply reliability principles when assessing equipment condition and making recommendations regarding repairs and ongoing asset performance.
  • Engineering Deliverables: Support piping and pressure vessel design, fitness-for-service assessments, field engineering activities, and other mechanical engineering deliverables.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist asset maintenance teams in maintaining accurate preventive maintenance plans and effective equipment sparing strategies.
  • Asset Health: Develop a strong understanding of refinery equipment and processes to support appropriate monitoring and assessment of unit health.
  • Safety and Change Management: Support personal and process safety initiatives, including Management of Change activities, while consistently upholding a strong safety culture.
  • Outages and Turnarounds: Provide mechanical engineering and integrity input for planned asset outages and turnaround activities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance, operations, inspection, and other engineering disciplines to address asset reliability and integrity challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to effective technical practices and improved equipment reliability through sound engineering judgment and data-informed decision-making.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with relevant knowledge and experience working with refinery equipment preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, with a total experience range of approximately 5–12 years.
  • Refinery Experience: Prior experience working as a Mechanical Engineer at an oil refinery in an onsite environment is required.
  • Refinery Fundamentals: Working knowledge of fundamental refinery processes, including distillation, heat transfer, and fluid systems.
  • Piping Expertise: Good understanding of piping components and systems, particularly for equipment repairs, engineering specifications, and integrity applications.
  • Engineering Codes: Practical application of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, and ASME PCC-1/PCC-2, with supervised experience where applicable.
  • Integrity Standards: Familiarity with NBIC, API 570, API 571, API 510, and API 579 Level 1 is advantageous and may be further developed on the job.
  • Inspection Knowledge: Awareness of inspection techniques such as RT, UT, PT, and MT is desirable.
  • Materials Knowledge: Awareness-level understanding of metallurgy and welding processes is beneficial.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
