The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mobile Engineer – ElevenMusic based in Canada.

Join a fast-moving engineering team building an innovative consumer music application where users can listen to, create, remix, and share music. As a Mobile Engineer, you will take ownership of the mobile experience across iOS and Android, shaping how musicians and creatives interact with AI-powered music technology. You will build polished, high-performance applications that go beyond simply adapting web features to mobile, delivering experiences designed specifically for mobile users. Working in a small, autonomous team, you will have the freedom to influence product direction, make key technical decisions, and turn ideas into production-ready features at speed. You will combine strong engineering fundamentals with exceptional product judgment to create intuitive, engaging, and reliable mobile experiences. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on a growing music product in a remote-first, AI-driven environment that values creativity, ownership, and rapid innovation.

Accountabilities:

  • Mobile Application Development: Own the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the mobile application across iOS and Android, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience on both platforms.
  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Take responsibility for mobile features from initial concept and technical planning through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • User Experience and Product Design: Build intuitive, visually polished, and engaging mobile experiences tailored to musicians, creators, and music enthusiasts, with a strong focus on usability and product quality.
  • Cross-Platform Engineering: Develop and maintain robust mobile architectures using suitable technologies such as React Native, Swift, or Kotlin, adapting technical choices to the needs of the product.
  • Systems and Backend Collaboration: Consider the broader technical ecosystem when developing mobile features, ensuring effective integration between mobile applications, backend services, and supporting systems.
  • Product Innovation: Help define the mobile product roadmap by identifying opportunities to improve music discovery, creation, remixing, sharing, and overall user engagement.
  • Rapid Development and Delivery: Work within a fast-paced engineering environment to prototype ideas, iterate quickly, and release improvements efficiently while maintaining high standards of reliability and performance.
  • Independent Problem-Solving: Translate high-level product goals into actionable engineering solutions, make informed technical decisions, and take ownership of outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor the quality of the mobile experience, identify opportunities for technical and product enhancements, and contribute to the long-term scalability and maintainability of the application.
  • Mobile Engineering Experience: Demonstrated experience building and shipping a well-designed, production-ready mobile application used by real customers, with clear examples of your contributions and ownership.
  • iOS and Android Expertise: Strong mobile development capabilities across both iOS and Android, with experience in one or more relevant technologies, including React Native, Swift, or Kotlin, and the ability to work across platforms.
  • Systems Thinking: A solid understanding of mobile architecture, backend integration, and the technical considerations involved in building reliable, scalable mobile applications.
  • Exceptional Product Judgment: Strong product intuition and a clear understanding of what makes a mobile experience intuitive, engaging, visually appealing, and genuinely useful to its users.
  • End-to-End Ownership: A highly self-directed approach, with the ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear plans, deliver production-ready solutions, and take responsibility for the results.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to make sound architectural decisions and balance development speed with quality and maintainability.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Comfortable working in a small, autonomous team with rapid development cycles, minimal bureaucracy, and the freedom to shape both technical implementation and product direction.
  • Interest in Music and Creativity: A genuine interest in music, creative tools, or digital music experiences is a plus, particularly an intuitive understanding of how musicians and creators interact with music products.
  • Open-Source Contributions: Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio demonstrating technical skills and initiative are advantageous.
  • Remote Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a distributed environment and collaborate across time zones, with availability to operate within the GMT-5 to GMT+1 time-zone range.
  • Remote-First Flexibility: Work remotely from Canada or another eligible location, with the option to work from offices in London, New York, Warsaw, or Amsterdam.
  • Professional Development: Receive an annual discretionary stipend to support learning, technical development, and career growth.
  • Social Travel Opportunities: Access an annual discretionary stipend to meet colleagues in person and strengthen professional relationships.
  • Annual Company Offsite: Participate in an annual company-wide gathering at an international destination, creating opportunities for collaboration and team building.
  • Co-Working Stipend: Receive a monthly co-working allowance if you are not located near one of the main office hubs.
  • High Ownership and Autonomy: Take responsibility for a core consumer product and have a direct influence on its technical architecture, user experience, and future direction.
  • Fast-Paced Innovation: Work in a lean engineering environment where rapid experimentation, efficient development workflows, and quick releases help bring ideas to users faster.
  • Meaningful Product Impact: Help shape how people discover, create, remix, and share music through innovative AI-powered technology.
  • Career Growth: Explore opportunities to expand your responsibilities and influence beyond your immediate role within a dynamic, globally distributed team.
  • Inclusive Work Environment: Join an equal opportunity workplace committed to fair employment practices and a culture that values talent, creativity, and impact.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
