This remote consulting opportunity is designed for experienced Canadian personal finance professionals who want to apply their expertise to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives. You will work with realistic household finance scenarios spanning taxation, registered accounts, mortgages, savings, and financial planning. Your expertise will help assess the accuracy, completeness, and practical usefulness of AI-generated financial guidance. You will also contribute to evaluation frameworks and rubrics that define what high-quality financial outputs should look like. The work combines professional financial judgment, analytical thinking, documentation review, and clear written communication. No previous AI experience is required, making this an opportunity to bring your existing Canadian finance expertise into an evolving technology environment.
Accountabilities:
- Complete realistic Canadian household personal-finance workflows and apply professional judgment to a variety of financial scenarios.
- Analyze financial decisions involving RRSPs, TFSAs, FHSAs, mortgages, savings strategies, household budgeting, and personal financial planning.
- Apply knowledge of Canadian personal taxation and CRA filing requirements, including relevant deadlines, contribution rules, and household financial obligations.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated personal-finance guidance for accuracy, completeness, relevance, and alignment with Canadian financial rules.
- Identify inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or impractical recommendations and provide concise, constructive feedback to improve output quality.
- Support the development and refinement of evaluation rubrics, scoring criteria, and assessment standards for complex financial scenarios.
- Identify edge cases and contribute professional judgment to ensure evaluation frameworks accurately reflect real-world Canadian personal finance situations.
- Review and interpret financial documentation while maintaining strong privacy, security, and documentation standards.
- Where required, complete approved workflows using securely linked Canadian bank accounts and ensure personally identifiable information is appropriately redacted before downstream use.
- Remain current with applicable Canadian tax, savings, registered-account, and personal-finance regulations relevant to assigned projects.
- Complete all work without using confidential, proprietary, client-specific, account-identifying, or otherwise restricted information belonging to employers, financial institutions, clients, or other third parties.
- 4+ years of hands-on professional experience in Canadian banking, wealth management, financial advising, accounting, tax planning, or a closely related field.
- Strong practical understanding of Canadian household financial planning and personal finance.
- Demonstrated expertise with RRSPs, TFSAs, FHSAs, mortgages, savings strategies, and personal taxation.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian personal tax filing processes and relevant CRA requirements.
- Ability to accurately review, interpret, and assess financial documentation.
- Strong professional judgment and the ability to analyze complex financial scenarios and reach well-supported conclusions.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical financial concepts clearly to different audiences.
- Experience creating rubrics, scoring criteria, evaluation frameworks, or assessment guidelines is an advantage.
- Previous experience reviewing AI-generated or model-generated content is beneficial but not required.
- Active Canadian professional credentials such as CFP, QAFP, CIM, PFP, or CPA are highly valued; CFA or CTP designations are also advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, manage assignments remotely, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfort with securely connecting personal Canadian bank accounts through Plaid when required for authentic workflow tasks, with appropriate redaction of personally identifiable information before downstream use.
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required; practical Canadian personal finance expertise is the primary qualification.
- Compensation of CAD $90–$110 per hour.
- Independent contractor engagement with a fully remote working model.
