This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer – Build, Release and Cloud Automation based in India.

This is a hands-on principal-level engineering role focused on building the next generation of CI/CD and software delivery infrastructure. You’ll shape scalable automation across Windows, Linux, AWS, and instrument-hosted environments supporting complex platform-based products. The role combines build and release engineering, cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code, packaging, deployment, and observability. You’ll modernize legacy delivery workflows while establishing reliable, standardized, and secure engineering practices. Working across R&D, IT, CloudOps, QA, and security teams, you’ll help connect development workflows with enterprise technology ecosystems. Your work will directly improve software delivery speed, reliability, traceability, and operational efficiency across product teams. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced DevOps leader who enjoys solving complex delivery challenges and turning manual processes into robust automation.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of modern CI/CD capabilities for platform-based software development across R&D.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable build, release, packaging, and deployment automation across Windows, Linux, and AWS environments.
  • Build efficient and maintainable delivery systems for C/C++, C#, and Python-based software projects.
  • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code and environment automation using Terraform and AWS services.
  • Drive standardization of configuration management, package management, artifact management, and software delivery processes.
  • Modernize existing Jenkins-based CI/CD workflows and contribute to the transition toward a scalable AWS-based delivery architecture.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, IT, CloudOps, QA, and security teams to integrate development workflows with enterprise infrastructure and security toolchains.
  • Implement monitoring, metrics, alerting, and automated engineering reporting for build, testing, release, and deployment processes.
  • Design and maintain software packaging and installation solutions, including Windows installers, Linux packages, and deployable system images.
  • Manage third-party software lifecycles, including licensing, dependencies, version planning, upgrades, and integration into controlled build environments.
  • Integrate security automation into CI/CD workflows, including SAST, SCA, DAST, secrets scanning, artifact scanning, and dependency controls.
  • Establish and improve DevOps operating models, release engineering standards, delivery governance, and automation practices across platform and product teams.
  • Contribute technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams while promoting reliable, scalable, and maintainable delivery practices.
  • Master's degree in STEM or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in DevOps, build and release engineering, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, software delivery engineering, or closely related disciplines.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD architectures for complex, multi-language software environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Jenkins and modern CI/CD concepts.
  • Deep practical knowledge of AWS services used for software delivery and automation, particularly S3, CodeArtifact, and related deployment services.
  • Expert-level Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform.
  • Strong Git and GitHub workflow experience.
  • Extensive experience with build systems and packaging for C/C++, C#, and Python, including tools such as MSBuild, CMake, make, pip, Poetry, and related mechanisms.
  • Proven experience developing Windows installers, Linux packages, deployment automation, and software installation solutions.
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or comparable technologies.
  • Solid understanding of configuration management, package and dependency management, artifact lifecycle, traceability, software supply chains, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience integrating engineering workflows with security tooling, including SAST, SCA, DAST, secrets scanning, artifact scanning, and dependency scanning.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, metrics, and engineering reporting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, SonarQube, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across R&D, IT, CloudOps, QA, and security teams.
  • Experience with hybrid environments spanning developer workstations, instruments, on-premise systems, and AWS cloud is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with software license management, third-party component governance, artifact repositories, binary/package lifecycle management, and controlled upgrade processes is beneficial.
  • Experience creating deployment images, including ISO-based or image-based delivery approaches, is a plus.
  • Exposure to MLOps or DataOps workflows is advantageous.
  • Fully remote, full-time position based in India.
  • Opportunity to work on next-generation CI/CD, cloud automation, and software delivery architecture.
  • Principal-level ownership and influence over engineering standards, automation strategy, and DevOps operating models.
  • Exposure to complex hybrid environments spanning cloud, on-premise systems, developer environments, and specialized instruments.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary global teams across R&D, IT, CloudOps, QA, and security.
  • Ability to modernize legacy delivery infrastructure and establish scalable AWS-based engineering practices.
  • Work on automation and security initiatives spanning the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • Opportunity to contribute to innovative technology supporting products and solutions in the health and life sciences ecosystem.
  • Professional growth through exposure to advanced cloud, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, release engineering, observability, and software supply-chain practices.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
