The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Architect based in United States.

This is a senior architecture leadership role focused on designing scalable, secure, and highly available SaaS products across public cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. You will define technology strategy and architectural direction for complex products while partnering closely with product management and engineering leadership. The role has a strong emphasis on cloud-native, serverless, microservices, and event-driven architectures, particularly within AWS environments. You will help modernize products, guide engineering teams, and ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and operational standards. The position offers significant influence over technology roadmaps, architecture governance, and adoption of emerging technologies such as AI/ML. Success requires deep technical expertise combined with strong communication, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership.

Accountabilities

  • Define and communicate the architectural vision and technology strategy for scalable, secure, and resilient SaaS products.
  • Architect and guide the implementation of cloud-native solutions across public cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployment models, with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Design architectures that support elasticity, high availability, disaster recovery, security, data retention, and operational resilience.
  • Partner with Product Management to align product roadmaps and release plans with the broader technology strategy and target-state architecture.
  • Maintain comprehensive product technology roadmaps, technical scorecards, technical-debt inventories, and alignment with architecture, security, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and architectural guidance to product engineering teams while promoting innovation and continuous learning.
  • Champion serverless, microservices, event-driven, and other cloud-native design patterns for highly scalable SaaS products.
  • Ensure solutions align with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles and appropriate cloud cost-management and optimization practices.
  • Lead architecture assessments, proofs of concept, design reviews, and the creation of living architecture artifacts throughout the governance lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, security, operations, technical architects, clients, and other stakeholders to translate business and technical needs into actionable architecture designs.
  • Support new products and releases by establishing appropriate cloud-native, serverless, and microservice architecture models.
  • Ensure product designs meet applicable security, privacy, compliance, and operational requirements, including relevant healthcare standards.
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies, including AI/ML, serverless computing, microservices, and modern cloud architectures.
  • Monitor industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into long-term product and technology roadmaps.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in application or solution architecture.
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, cloud-native application design, and deployment.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale, complex serverless SaaS solutions on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience with modern engineering practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and DevOps.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services, cloud architecture principles, scalability, availability, security, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
  • Advanced proficiency in cloud-native serverless application design, microservices architecture, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Deep understanding of multi-region and multi-tenant SaaS architectures and cloud service design patterns.
  • Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools, including AWS CloudWatch.
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management models across on-premises and public cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulations such as HITRUST, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound architectural recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead technical discussions, influence decisions, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and the ability to operate effectively in deadline-driven, agile environments.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience as an architect within a commercial SaaS environment.
  • Preferred: 5+ years working within a formal architecture governance framework.
  • Required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or an equivalent advanced certification.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and/or certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, or Cloud Security.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • Fully remote: Work from a home office with flexibility designed to support work-life balance and reduce commuting costs.
  • Healthcare: Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield options.
  • Telehealth: Medical and behavioral-health telehealth services.
  • Paid time off: Generous PTO with options to buy or sell additional time.
  • Holidays: 9 company holidays, a floating day off, and a paid day for volunteering.
  • Wellness: Employee Assistance Program and wellness initiatives that can provide insurance discounts or credits toward health-related expenses.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Financial support: Company-funded spending/reimbursement accounts for eligible medical expenses and access to financial-planning consultations.
  • Insurance: Employer-provided basic life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, with supplemental term life insurance available.
  • Professional development: Tuition assistance and access to a comprehensive on-demand e-learning library.
  • Additional perks: Bonus and recognition programs plus group discounts on mobile, technology, and other services.
  • Travel: Occasional overnight travel, expected to be up to approximately 10%.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
