The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Development Owner based in the United States.

Join a product development team focused on transforming complex tax workflows through automation, intelligent software, and practical AI applications. In this role, you will own product outcomes from concept to adoption, balancing strategic roadmap planning with hands-on agile delivery. You will identify repetitive, error-prone processes and develop solutions that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and accelerate client workflows. Working closely with engineering, marketing, and client-facing teams, you will turn customer insights and product data into measurable improvements. You will also integrate AI into your daily work to streamline product discovery, requirements development, and delivery. This remote opportunity is ideal for a data-driven product professional who enjoys solving complex problems, making evidence-based decisions, and delivering meaningful customer impact.

Accountabilities

  • Own product strategy and outcomes: Maintain a Now/Next/Later roadmap aligned with business objectives and planning cycles. Define measurable success criteria, establish realistic delivery commitments, and make informed decisions to adjust, deprioritize, or discontinue initiatives when evidence indicates they will not achieve the intended outcomes.
  • Lead product development from concept to adoption: Shape new products, features, and concepts from initial discovery through launch and adoption. Reassess existing product areas, refine requirements as new information emerges, and make effective scope decisions in uncertain or evolving environments.
  • Identify and automate manual workflows: Analyze how clients prepare, reconcile, and validate tax data. Identify repetitive and error-prone tasks and translate them into automation capabilities, rules-based validation, and AI-assisted workflows. Measure results through time saved, errors prevented, and reduced processing cycles.
  • Integrate AI responsibly into product solutions: Collaborate with engineering teams to identify valuable AI use cases and establish appropriate safeguards for accuracy, auditability, explainability, data security, and human oversight. Define evaluation datasets, accuracy thresholds, and acceptance criteria before implementation.
  • Leverage AI to improve productivity: Use AI tools to create and refine product features, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and release notes. Apply AI to analyze product usage, interpret client feedback, and explore existing codebases to better understand system behavior and accelerate requirements development.
  • Manage agile product delivery: Maintain a clear, actionable backlog in tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Linear. Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, program increment (PI) planning, and sprint demonstrations while identifying and managing dependencies across teams.
  • Make data-informed product decisions: Use product analytics, customer research, and support trends to prioritize initiatives and validate assumptions. Establish adoption KPIs for new releases and review performance within 90 days of launch.
  • Champion the end-to-end client experience: Work with client escalation owners and cross-functional teams to understand reported issues, prioritize defects and enhancements, and create actionable development requirements. Validate fixes through user acceptance testing and ensure alignment with established user experience standards.
  • Drive product launches and adoption: Partner with go-to-market, product marketing, and marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle. Incorporate sales feedback, pipeline insights, account manager observations, and market research into product priorities and launch plans. Ensure releases are clearly positioned, effectively communicated, adopted, and measured.
  • Communicate progress and manage expectations: Present roadmap priorities, delivery progress, risks, and trade-offs to clients, sales teams, and executives. Review client-facing communications for clarity and accuracy, and proactively address missed commitments with practical recovery plans.
  • Deliver measurable first-year outcomes: Establish a roadmap with defined success metrics for every committed initiative, ship at least one capability that demonstrably reduces manual client work, maintain a build-ready backlog, and target delivery of at least 90% of committed priority items during each planning increment.
  • Relevant professional experience: At least five years of recent product ownership or product management experience, or relevant tax and accounting experience with direct involvement in software delivery.
  • Educational background: An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Practical AI experience: Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools in everyday work, including a concrete example of automating or eliminating a repetitive manual process and measurable results.
  • Workflow analysis and automation: Ability to break complex processes into clear, manageable steps, identify opportunities for rules-based validation or automation, and translate them into actionable product requirements.
  • Product discovery and delivery: Experience taking a new product, feature, or concept from ideation to adoption, or substantially rethinking an existing product area while adapting requirements based on evidence and user feedback.
  • Responsible AI judgment: Working knowledge of AI limitations, including accuracy issues, hallucinations, and data privacy considerations, with the ability to determine when human review and additional controls are necessary.
  • Agile methodologies and tools: Familiarity with agile delivery practices, backlog management, and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Linear.
  • Analytical capabilities: Comfort working with data using Excel, basic SQL, and product analytics tools to evaluate performance, support prioritization, and measure outcomes.
  • Communication and collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including clients and senior executives.
  • Ownership and decision-making: Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, manage time effectively, deliver on commitments, and make decisive choices to continue, change, or stop initiatives based on measurable evidence.
  • Preferred tax expertise: Experience in corporate tax, including tax provision, U.S. or international tax compliance, or Pillar Two requirements.
  • Preferred automation experience: Familiarity with workflow and data automation platforms such as Power Automate or Alteryx.
  • Preferred technical fluency: Ability to read code or navigate a repository, such as GitHub, to understand existing functionality and system behavior.
  • Preferred AI workflow development: Experience creating reusable AI workflows, prompt libraries, or AI agents.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Eligibility for annual success-sharing bonuses, performance-based bonuses, or commission plans, depending on the role and individual performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including annual leave.
  • Tuition reimbursement to support ongoing professional development.
  • Employee referral bonuses.
  • Remote work arrangements, subject to business needs and applicable local regulations.
  • Opportunities for career development, internal mobility, and collaboration with talented colleagues.
  • An inclusive, growth-oriented working environment that values diversity, accessibility, and belonging.
  • Opportunities to contribute to innovative software solutions that improve business processes and customer outcomes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
