The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Analyst based in India (Remote).

As a Project Analyst, you will play a key role in managing the financial performance and profitability of clinical research projects. You will work closely with project management teams to monitor budgets, forecast revenue, analyze costs, and ensure accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will help maintain financial transparency, support informed decision-making, and ensure that project resources are aligned with planned activities. You will also contribute to invoicing, cash flow monitoring, change order management, and compliance with financial and audit requirements. Through collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients, you will translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights. This remote opportunity is ideal for an analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys combining financial expertise, stakeholder communication, and meaningful contributions to healthcare and clinical research.

Accountabilities:

  • Financial Planning and Monitoring: Collaborate with project management teams to accurately record completed project activities, associated units, and financial values on a monthly basis.
  • Revenue Forecasting: Develop and maintain forecasts for future project activities and revenue, ensuring financial projections reflect current project plans and expected deliverables.
  • Budget and Profitability Analysis: Analyze actual hours, costs, revenue, and resource utilization against approved budgets to identify variances, assess profitability, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Resource Planning: Review projected resource assignments to ensure staffing levels and resource allocations align with forecasted workloads and project requirements.
  • Invoicing and Cash Flow Management: Ensure invoices are issued promptly when applicable and monitor overall project cash positions, including service revenue, payments, grants, outstanding invoices, advances, and other financial components.
  • Financial Data Management: Maintain accurate, complete, and timely financial records in designated systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency across project reporting processes.
  • Client Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports to clients within agreed timelines and in accordance with contractual obligations and client-specific requirements.
  • Change Order Management: Support the change order process by documenting scope changes, reviewing revised budgets and payment schedules, and coordinating the necessary review and approval activities.
  • Audit and Compliance Support: Ensure financial records meet audit requirements and assist with interim and year-end audit processes, maintaining appropriate documentation and supporting compliance activities.
  • Revenue Recognition: Apply relevant revenue recognition principles, including percentage-of-completion methodologies, to support accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about applicable local and international revenue regulations and support the consistent application of relevant financial policies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a financial resource for project teams, helping colleagues understand financial performance, challenging assumptions when necessary, and escalating financial risks through appropriate channels.
  • Financial Communication and Presentations: Develop clear financial summaries and presentations that explain project performance, risks, and forecasts to non-financial stakeholders and clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to assigned projects and areas of specialization, develop financial expertise through ongoing learning, and undertake additional responsibilities as required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent four-year qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, analyze budget variances, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and report financial information accurately.
  • Understanding of project financial management throughout the complete project lifecycle, from initial study award and planning through execution and closeout.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles, particularly percentage-of-completion accounting, and their application to project financial reporting.
  • Understanding of project budgets, cost tracking, revenue forecasting, resource planning, invoicing, and cash flow management.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and presentations and communicate complex financial information clearly to colleagues and clients without a finance background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English proficiency and the ability to present financial findings concisely and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively, address financial concerns, and support sound business decisions.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records, meeting reporting deadlines, and complying with audit requirements.
  • Ability to identify financial risks, prioritize competing responsibilities, and escalate issues through the appropriate channels.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with project managers, cross-functional teams, and external clients in a remote working environment.
  • A proactive approach to professional development, with the ability to learn independently, adapt to evolving requirements, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Previous experience in finance, business analysis, project accounting, or a related field is preferred. Experience in clinical research or contract research organization (CRO) environments would be advantageous.
  • Remote work flexibility: Work remotely from India in a full-time position.
  • Meaningful industry contribution: Support the financial management of clinical research projects that contribute to healthcare advancements and improved patient outcomes.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with project management teams and client stakeholders to support financial transparency and effective decision-making.
  • Professional development: Strengthen your expertise in project finance, budgeting, revenue recognition, financial analysis, and client reporting.
  • International exposure: Gain experience working with project financial processes, client requirements, and regulatory considerations in a global clinical research environment.
  • Analytical and business impact: Contribute directly to project profitability, resource optimization, financial compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Inclusive work environment: Join a professional culture that values collaboration, diversity, equal opportunity, and continuous learning.
  • Career progression: Opportunities for advancement may be available based on demonstrated competencies, increasing responsibility, and the ability to work independently rather than tenure alone.
  • Salary and additional benefits: Specific compensation, healthcare coverage, paid leave, bonuses, and other benefits have not been disclosed in the available job description and should be confirmed during the recruitment process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
