The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Network Engineer - Security (Cisco FTD) based in India.

We are seeking an experienced network security professional to support and secure enterprise network environments for clients across global regions. In this senior role, you will provide 24/7 network operations support, troubleshoot complex security challenges, and independently manage critical incidents and escalations. You will bring deep expertise in Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC), alongside strong routing, switching, and multi-vendor networking capabilities. You will implement and maintain security policies, VPNs, and network protection measures while identifying risks and delivering effective remediation. Working directly with international clients, you will communicate clearly under pressure and drive high-priority technical calls toward timely resolution. This opportunity suits a technically strong, client-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and values continuous learning.

Accountabilities

  • Manage enterprise network security operations: Provide 24/7 support to global clients, investigate complex network and security issues, and ensure timely resolution of incidents, escalations, and service disruptions.
  • Administer Cisco Firepower platforms: Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco FMC and FTD solutions, applying advanced security capabilities to protect enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Implement security policies and controls: Configure firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), Network Address Translation (NAT), intrusion prevention, URL filtering, malware analysis, and other security measures in accordance with established security standards.
  • Configure and maintain VPN solutions: Implement and troubleshoot site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, including IPSec technologies, to enable secure communication across distributed environments.
  • Manage certificates and security incidents: Handle SSL certificate requests, renewals, installations, and troubleshooting, while responding to threats and incidents such as malware detection, DDoS attacks, and firewall policy conflicts.
  • Support enterprise routing and switching: Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Arista networking solutions, and enterprise LAN/WAN environments, including VLANs, ARP, MAC address tables, Spanning Tree Protocol, EtherChannel, switch stacking, HSRP/VRRP, routing, and ACLs.
  • Support SD-WAN environments: Where applicable, configure and troubleshoot SD-WAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela and Versa, including dynamic path selection, application performance optimization, connectivity, encryption, secure tunneling, and integrated firewall policies.
  • Lead critical technical escalations: Independently drive high-priority P1/P2 technical calls, coordinate troubleshooting, de-escalate challenging situations, and provide clear, concise updates to clients throughout the resolution process.
  • Assess and remediate security risks: Evaluate emerging network security risks, recommend practical remediation measures, and implement solutions aligned with applicable vendor policies and security best practices.
  • Manage client relationships and competing priorities: Handle client interactions and multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining professionalism, clear communication, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Professional experience: 5–10 years of experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting multi-vendor enterprise networking solutions, including complex network security environments.
  • Routing and switching expertise: Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, LAN/WAN technologies, routing and switching principles, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP, ACLs, and NAT.
  • Cisco security proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and related Cisco security products, including configuration, policy management, incident response, and troubleshooting.
  • Firewall and VPN knowledge: Strong experience with firewall administration, intrusion prevention, URL filtering, malware protection, IPSec, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPN technologies.
  • Multi-vendor networking capabilities: Practical experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Arista networking solutions, and enterprise network infrastructure. Familiarity with software-defined networking and SD-WAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela or Versa is an advantage.
  • Security and certificate management: Understanding of security risk assessment, threat mitigation, SSL certificate lifecycle management, and secure network communications.
  • Client-facing communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with international clients across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, manage expectations, and communicate effectively during high-pressure incidents.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities, sound technical judgment, and a structured approach to resolving complex issues and managing escalations.
  • Organization and ownership: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, work independently, and take ownership of critical technical incidents from investigation through resolution.
  • Certifications: Relevant networking or security certifications are an advantage.
  • Remote work flexibility: Work from home with no daily requirement to travel to an office, provided you have a stable internet connection.
  • Competitive compensation: Access a competitive total rewards package, with specific salary and compensation details to be confirmed during the hiring process.
  • Professional development: Benefit from a training allowance, professional development days, opportunities to attend training, and support for pursuing relevant certifications and expanding technical skills.
  • Work-from-home equipment: Receive the equipment needed to work remotely, including a laptop with a choice of operating system.
  • Workspace allowance: Access an annual budget to personalize and improve your home working environment.
  • Wellness support: Receive an annual wellness budget that can be used for eligible activities and services, such as gym memberships and fitness or relaxation expenses.
  • Paid time off: Benefit from paid vacation and sick leave, along with a dedicated day off to volunteer for a charitable cause.
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside experienced technology professionals and contribute to challenging enterprise networking and security projects for global clients.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
