The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager II – Fraud & Identity based in Canada.

As a Senior Product Manager II – Fraud & Identity, you will lead the strategy and development of products that protect customers, prevent fraud, and strengthen identity verification across the customer lifecycle. You will own the roadmap spanning fraud detection, prevention, authentication, and incident response in a fast-paced, remote-first technology environment. Working closely with engineering, operations, security, and legal teams, you will turn complex risk signals into practical, scalable product solutions. You will leverage data, AI, and automation to improve fraud detection while minimizing unnecessary friction for legitimate customers. This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to shape critical financial protection systems, influence cross-functional priorities, and deliver measurable business impact. You will also contribute to compliance-related capabilities and help build a seamless, secure customer experience.

Accountabilities

  • Define product strategy: Own and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for fraud prevention, detection, identity verification, and authentication across the customer lifecycle.
  • Prioritize product investments: Coordinate priorities across interconnected teams, balance competing business needs, and sequence initiatives according to risk reduction, customer experience, and business impact.
  • Develop fraud detection capabilities: Work directly with engineers to evaluate risk signals, refine scoring logic, define detection rules, and improve the effectiveness of fraud prevention systems.
  • Translate insights into execution: Produce clear, evidence-based decision documents with actionable recommendations, ensuring that research and analysis lead to prioritized decisions and shipped product improvements.
  • Lead incident response: Coordinate fraud incident management across engineering, client operations, governance, risk and compliance, treasury, and security teams. Improve investigation processes, escalation procedures, and response playbooks.
  • Measure product performance: Define and monitor key metrics covering fraud detection accuracy, authentication coverage, false positives, operational efficiency, and the impact of security measures on customer experience.
  • Optimize fraud operations: Support investigation, triage, case management, and response workflows, enabling operational teams to manage fraud risks efficiently and consistently.
  • Support compliance initiatives: Partner with legal and governance, risk, and compliance stakeholders on know-your-customer (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), audit readiness, and related product capabilities.
  • Evaluate technology solutions: Lead build-versus-buy decisions for fraud prevention and identity platforms, assess vendors and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to improve scalability and automation.
  • Leverage AI and automation: Explore and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve fraud detection, accelerate investigations, automate repetitive tasks, and strengthen risk management.
  • Influence cross-functional decisions: Challenge proposed changes or investments when evidence suggests they introduce excessive customer friction without delivering meaningful risk reduction.
  • Relevant product management experience: Demonstrated experience owning a fraud, risk, or identity product area within a payments, fintech, or marketplace business, with direct accountability for product decisions and outcomes.
  • Fraud and risk expertise: Strong understanding of fraud detection trade-offs, including precision versus recall, false-positive costs, risk signals, and balancing security requirements with customer friction.
  • Technical proficiency: Ability to work directly with engineering teams on scoring logic, data schemas, integrations, authentication systems, and technical product decisions.
  • Incident management experience: Experience leading or co-leading incident response, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and developing effective operational processes for investigating and resolving fraud events.
  • AI capabilities: Practical experience using or building AI-powered solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, automation, and decision-making across the fraud lifecycle.
  • Strategic execution: A proven track record of translating analysis into clear recommendations, prioritizing product roadmaps, and delivering measurable improvements through shipped products.
  • Technology evaluation: Experience making build-versus-buy decisions and assessing fraud prevention, risk management, or identity verification platforms.
  • Stakeholder management: Confidence challenging senior stakeholders constructively, supporting recommendations with evidence, and aligning diverse teams around difficult product decisions.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and risk-related concepts clearly in a remote-first, documentation-driven environment.
  • Additional assets: Experience in payroll, payments, money movement, vendor or accounts payable fraud, KYC/AML, or identity platforms such as Auth0. Familiarity with synthetic identities and AI-generated identity fraud is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications: Advanced financial or fraud-related qualifications, such as CPA, CFA, or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), are considered beneficial.
  • Competitive compensation: Annual base salary for Canadian locations ranging from CAD $156,500 to $215,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications. Additional compensation may include equity and other applicable incentives.
  • Fully remote work: Work from anywhere in Canada or the United States, offering flexibility and location independence.
  • Unlimited paid time off: Flexible time-off arrangements to support personal well-being and work-life balance.
  • Health and dental coverage: Access to healthcare and dental benefits.
  • Home office support: Up to CAD $2,025 toward home IT equipment and setup.
  • Retirement savings: Up to 2% matching contributions to an RRSP in Canada or a 401(k) in the United States, subject to applicable plan terms.
  • Internet and phone allowance: Up to CAD $67.50 toward internet or mobile phone services.
  • Learning and development: Opportunities to strengthen professional skills, expand expertise, and grow within a collaborative technology environment.
  • Meaningful impact: The opportunity to own critical fraud and identity capabilities, work closely with talented cross-functional teams, and help build safer, more reliable financial workflows.
  • Inclusive workplace: A commitment to a respectful, accessible, and discrimination-free environment that values people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
