The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Project/Portfolio Coordinator based in United States.

This role provides critical operational support to software development and application management teams, helping technical leaders keep complex initiatives organized and on track. You will coordinate project administration, schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and team activities across the software development lifecycle. The position serves as a bridge between technical teams and program leadership, translating engineering progress and challenges into concise, actionable updates. You will work across engineering, QA, UI/UX, DevOps, infrastructure, vendors, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment and remove operational blockers. A strong focus on Agile delivery, project reporting, documentation, release coordination, and portfolio visibility will be central to your work. Your organization and follow-through will enable technical leaders to focus more deeply on engineering execution, mentorship, and strategic priorities. This is an opportunity to play a key coordination role within a fast-paced technical environment where accuracy, communication, and proactive problem-solving are highly valued.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and organize Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project boards, backlogs, workflows, schedules, and work items.
  • Ensure work items contain clear acceptance criteria, accurate status information, appropriate tags, and relevant story-point estimates.
  • Coordinate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, release readiness reviews, and other project and team meetings.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, deadlines, dependencies, risks, issues, resource constraints, and other factors affecting project execution.
  • Maintain RAID logs and proactively identify potential schedule delays, roadblocks, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Document meetings, track action items, and follow up with owners to ensure commitments are completed on time.
  • Prepare recurring project status reports, dashboards, burndown charts, velocity metrics, and executive-level summaries.
  • Translate technical progress, challenges, risks, and accomplishments into clear communications for program leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities across software engineering, QA, UI/UX, DevOps, infrastructure, and other supporting teams.
  • Monitor code reviews, pull requests, testing, deployments, and release blockers that could affect project deliverables.
  • Maintain project documentation and repositories in Confluence, SharePoint, GitHub Wiki, or similar platforms.
  • Ensure architecture diagrams, user guides, release documentation, compliance approvals, and other project materials are properly maintained and archived.
  • Support application release schedules, testing and feedback cycles, production maintenance windows, and incident tracking.
  • Monitor software licensing requirements, vendor updates, cloud-resource needs, and related project allocations.
  • Track contract deliverables and required approvals against statements of work, project schedules, and program baselines.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support that enables technical leadership to focus on engineering execution, team development, and strategic priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting software development, IT, or technical project teams.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience managing project boards, backlogs, workflows, and reporting through Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience coordinating sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, release activities, and other Agile project meetings.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, action-item logs, and RAID registers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information into concise executive-level summaries.
  • Experience developing project status reports, dashboards, metrics, leadership briefings, and other project communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify and proactively communicate project risks, schedule delays, resource constraints, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Strong collaboration skills with software engineers, technical leads, QA professionals, UI/UX designers, DevOps and infrastructure teams, vendors, and program leadership.
  • Experience maintaining project documentation in Confluence, SharePoint, GitHub Wiki, or similar knowledge repositories.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, follow through on commitments, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting government contracts, formal deliverables, compliance requirements, or software licensing is preferred.
  • Project management or Agile certifications such as CAPM, PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, or PMI-ACP are preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance or access authorization associated with the position.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged computer-based work, repetitive hand and wrist movements, and participation in audible emergency communications, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
  • Annual projected compensation range of $145,000–$175,000.
  • Market-based compensation aligned with education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, position location, and contract requirements.
  • Total compensation package in addition to base salary.
  • Opportunity to support software development and application management initiatives in a technical, collaborative environment.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery, portfolio coordination, technical program operations, and cross-functional project management.
  • Opportunities to work closely with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, QA, and technical leadership teams.
  • Professional development opportunities through project management and Agile experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
