The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer I, Integrations and Internal Systems based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to own critical internal integrations while helping build the infrastructure that enables AI-powered workflows across the organization. You will work across back-office systems, data pipelines, agent tooling, security, and internal platforms in a highly autonomous environment. A key focus will be evolving an early-stage MCP layer into a durable platform that enables teams and AI agents to interact safely with real business systems. You will balance operational ownership with continuous improvement, knowing when to fix an integration and when to rebuild it on better infrastructure. The role is highly hands-on, requiring strong engineering judgment, technical curiosity, and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions. AI-assisted development is embedded into the team's daily workflow, giving you the opportunity to work faster while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reliability. This is an ideal environment for a self-directed engineer who enjoys meaningful ownership, rapid learning, and building systems that make other teams more effective.

Accountabilities:

  • Own, maintain, and enhance integrations connecting ERP, warehouse management, data warehouse, and adjacent internal systems.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and consolidate the integration landscape, reducing duplicated logic, unnecessary moving parts, and long-term maintenance overhead.
  • Rebuild individual integration flows onto more effective infrastructure when appropriate, distinguishing between short-term fixes and durable engineering solutions.
  • Build and expand the internal MCP layer, including connectors and tools that allow AI agents to safely interact with real business systems.
  • Help define and implement authentication, access controls, auditing, and governance mechanisms for AI agents in partnership with security and infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Provide hands-on technical enablement to teams working on integrations and agent-related initiatives, helping resolve connector, permissions, and technical feasibility challenges.
  • Exercise sound judgment when determining whether a technical issue should be solved through engineering or addressed as a broader business or process problem.
  • Use AI development tools extensively to accelerate coding, maintenance, and problem-solving while maintaining strong standards for correctness and quality.
  • Own the performance, stability, maintainability, and overall quality of the systems and code delivered.
  • Contribute to a high-trust environment by communicating clearly, documenting technical decisions, and helping others understand complex tradeoffs.
  • Take ambiguous ideas from initial concept through implementation, collaboration, and delivery.
  • 5+ years of experience building, operating, and maintaining production system integrations, particularly systems that move data between platforms such as ERP, WMS, or similar business systems.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including the ability to design pipelines, debug production issues under pressure, and distinguish between temporary fixes and durable solutions.
  • Hands-on experience using AI development tools, with experience building with agent frameworks or MCP considered highly valuable.
  • Experience working effectively with incomplete specifications and rough direction, turning ambiguity into concrete solutions and shipped functionality.
  • A strong builder's mindset and willingness to implement solutions directly rather than relying primarily on design or delegation.
  • Strong security awareness and the ability to identify appropriate questions around agent permissions, system access, authentication, and data protection.
  • A high degree of intellectual honesty, including the ability to clearly communicate knowledge gaps rather than making unsupported assumptions.
  • Experience with Airflow, Airbyte, or comparable data-pipeline infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to become productive quickly with unfamiliar technologies, frameworks, languages, or platforms.
  • Experience evaluating new technologies based on their practical merits rather than familiarity or trends.
  • Strong ownership of the systems and experiences you build, with a commitment to maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to provide and receive direct feedback constructively.
  • Ability to document technical decisions clearly and explain complex technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Genuine interest in sustainability and alignment with a mission focused on creating healthier products and a healthier planet.
  • Experience building or contributing to an MCP server or similar agent-tooling layer is a strong plus.
  • Experience rebuilding integrations from legacy iPaaS environments is a plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or HighJump integrations is highly valuable.
  • Experience implementing authentication, access control, or auditing for AI agents operating on production systems is preferred.
  • Experience working within a fast-growing ecommerce environment is a plus.
  • The interview process includes a take-home project and a working review session covering system design, coding, product thinking, and AI-assisted development.
  • Full-time, exempt position with remote work available to candidates based in California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Illinois, New York, Missouri, and Massachusetts.
  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Salary range of $144,000–$185,000, with compensation determined in part by market-specific cost-of-living data and experience.
  • Eligibility for an annual incentive target in addition to base salary.
  • Equity participation.
  • Flexible paid time off focused on results and outcomes.
  • Free VIP membership.
  • 50% employee discount.
  • Opportunity to work in a high-trust, autonomous environment with meaningful ownership and decision-making responsibility.
  • Inclusive environment that values psychological safety, candid communication, continuous learning, and diverse perspectives.
  • Opportunity to contribute to sustainability-focused initiatives and technology designed to create positive impact.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
