This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) based in India.

Join a talented platform engineering team building high-performance systems that power large-scale mobile advertising and real-time data processing. In this role, you will design and develop distributed software components capable of handling massive volumes of data and real-time transactions. You will work across the technology stack, tackling complex engineering challenges involving real-time bidding, budget management, and data pipelines. Collaborating closely with data scientists, analysts, product specialists, and business teams, you will help transform technical innovation into measurable product impact. You will also contribute to engineering best practices, mentor junior colleagues, and explore AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality. This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical infrastructure in a collaborative, international, and fast-moving environment.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain highly scalable software components and data pipeline architectures capable of processing large-scale data volumes.
  • Build and improve complex distributed systems, exploring low-level system behavior and optimizing interactions between services and components.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Create efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using SQL and big data technologies.
  • Build data tools and infrastructure that help data scientists and analysts improve analytics capabilities and optimize product performance.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of real-time bidding systems, real-time budget management, event-processing platforms, and other distributed components.
  • Apply AI-powered development tools and agentic coding techniques to streamline everyday engineering workflows and improve development efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data science, analytics, product, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-impact technical solutions.
  • Share technical knowledge, support engineering best practices, and mentor junior software engineers.
  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including coding and implementing complex projects in distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, which is essential for this role.
  • Deep understanding of multithreading, the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), garbage collection (GC), and performance profiling tools.
  • Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Practical experience with relational SQL databases and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, including practical adoption of AI-driven and agentic coding workflows.
  • Ability to investigate complex technical problems, design robust architectures, and optimize performance at scale.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an agile, cross-functional environment.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for continuous learning and technical innovation.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Nice to have: Experience with C++ or Golang.
  • Nice to have: Previous experience in machine learning (ML) or data science (DS).
  • Nice to have: Background in advertising technology (AdTech) or marketing technology (MarTech).
