The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer, Robotaxi Systems based in United States.

This role sits at the intersection of autonomous driving technology, remote operations, and customer-facing systems. You will help design and evaluate complex system-of-systems architectures that support safe, reliable robotaxi operations. The position plays a key role in defining, measuring, and validating performance targets required for commercial deployment. You will collaborate closely with autonomy, software, AI, infrastructure, simulation, validation, and operations teams. Your work will help strengthen system performance, safety, customer experience, and operational readiness. The environment is fast-paced, highly technical, multidisciplinary, and focused on bringing advanced autonomous vehicle technology into real-world use.

Accountabilities:

  • Define system architectures, requirements, and interfaces across Remote Operation, Fleet Orchestration, Mapping, and related autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Design and continuously improve the interfaces and processes connecting the autonomy stack, remote operators, and customers.
  • Establish, evaluate, and validate system performance targets using data pipelines, simulation environments, and verification and validation campaigns.
  • Act as a key systems engineering partner across software, AI, autonomy, simulation, validation, and remote operations teams, helping identify system needs and improve capabilities such as perception, prediction, and planning.
  • Model, document, and communicate complex system interactions while creating clear documentation for operational and customer experience workflows.
  • Develop and maintain rigorous approaches to system performance evaluation, data quality, testing, and readiness.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that can improve autonomous vehicle systems engineering and accelerate development.
  • Contribute to the advancement and safety of autonomous vehicle technology by delivering accurate insights, performance metrics, and recommendations to development teams.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical discipline; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, together with a solid understanding of modern software development principles, production practices, Git, and standard version control workflows.
  • Hands-on experience designing complex system interfaces, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and system-level architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in complex system performance evaluation, data analysis, and metrics development.
  • Experience with high-availability infrastructure, customer experience or HMI systems, or mapping and routing technologies for autonomous vehicle fleets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts, findings, and results to engineers, product managers, and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, agile, CI/CD environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality, accuracy, rigorous testing, and reliable system performance.
  • Preferred experience includes working with autonomous vehicle sensor data such as LiDAR, cameras, or radar, as well as planning, localization, simulation, regression testing, or V&V strategies.
  • Familiarity with AV data pipelines and visualization tools such as Databricks or Looker, statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, Human-Machine Interfaces, and user experience studies is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of autonomous vehicle safety standards, including UL 4600, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, or ISO/PAS 8800, is a plus.
  • Estimated base salary range of $172,000–$229,000 USD, depending on skills, experience, expertise, location, certifications, licenses, and business needs.
  • Potential additional compensation may include bonuses or equity, with specific details discussed during the hiring process.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Health savings accounts and life insurance.
  • Pet insurance and additional employee benefits.
  • Remote U.S. work option, with the role also available in Boston, Las Vegas, or Pittsburgh.
  • Up to 20% travel, typically involving 1–2 weeks each quarter at testing sites, primarily in Las Vegas and other domestic locations.
  • Reasonable workplace accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
  • The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development, safety, and commercialization of advanced autonomous vehicle technology.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
