The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Development Engineer - .NET or RoR based in Brazil.

This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building reliable, scalable software for a global technology platform. You will contribute to a product built with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL while helping expand its APIs and user interfaces with C# and React. Working within a collaborative Scrum team, you will design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality features for large-scale production environments. The role combines hands-on development with technical ownership, troubleshooting, mentoring, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems involving security, performance, scalability, and reliability. AI is an important part of the engineering environment, with opportunities to use it to accelerate development, diagnostics, automation, and knowledge sharing. This remote role is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical judgment with curiosity, adaptability, and a results-oriented mindset.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy reusable, maintainable, efficient, and high-quality software for large-scale production environments.
  • Build and enhance applications using Ruby on Rails and/or C#, with opportunities to work across APIs and React-based user interfaces.
  • Develop and consume REST APIs while designing solutions that support scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and low latency.
  • Apply test-driven development, strong object-oriented programming practices, debugging techniques, and appropriate data structures and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders to define solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver new capabilities.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and modern deployment practices.
  • Address non-functional requirements including application security, performance, scalability, reliability, and load.
  • Raise technical standards through strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, knowledge sharing, and systemic problem solving.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to improving team capabilities, engineering practices, and technical decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve development workflows, operational efficiency, and system scalability.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate software development, root-cause analysis, case-history summarization, documentation, and knowledge-base creation.
  • Measure and communicate improvements enabled by AI and share effective practices with engineering peers.
  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration by improving clarity, communication, and execution across technical and product teams.
  • 8+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or C#, with strong software engineering experience in production environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Solid object-oriented programming, debugging, data structures, and algorithm skills.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable systems and low-latency APIs.
  • Understanding of highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience building or working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using tools such as GitLab and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes; experience with ECS or Docker Swarm is also valuable.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of web application security and secure software development practices.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems from multiple perspectives, evaluate trade-offs, and select effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical updates and resolutions clearly to customers, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates, share knowledge, document solutions, and improve engineering standards.
  • Strong adaptability, creativity, persistence, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to embrace AI as an essential engineering capability and apply AI tools to everyday technical challenges.
  • Professional proficiency in English; applications and resumes must be submitted in English.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Potential eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
  • Health and wellness benefits that may include private medical, life, and disability insurance, depending on location.
  • Fully remote work opportunity from Brazil.
  • Opportunity to work with international engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Exposure to modern technologies including Ruby on Rails, C#, React, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Opportunity to work in an AI-first engineering environment where AI is integrated into workflows, products, and decision-making.
  • Professional growth through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technically challenging projects.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment, with employee-led resource groups and a strong focus on belonging and equal opportunity.
  • This position is also open to people with disabilities (PwD), in accordance with applicable Brazilian legislation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
