This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend based in India.

This staff-level engineering role focuses on shaping a high-impact platform that enables highly customized user experiences at global scale. You’ll help architect robust systems, build scalable interfaces, and improve the underlying runtime and templating capabilities that power complex frontend experiences. The role combines frontend and full-stack engineering with platform architecture, operational excellence, and technical leadership. You’ll work primarily with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and Ruby while applying modern approaches such as microfrontend architecture. A major part of the position involves influencing technical direction, improving engineering standards, and collaborating across teams on large-scale initiatives. You’ll also contribute to production reliability, continuous delivery, operational support strategies, and the development of other engineers. This opportunity is ideal for a highly experienced engineer who can tackle complex technical challenges while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Platform architecture: Architect, develop, and maintain the runtime platform that powers customized frontend experiences, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, maintainable, and performant.
  • Scalable frontend development: Design and implement sophisticated user interfaces using microfrontend concepts to deliver flexible, high-quality, and intuitive experiences.
  • Templating systems: Improve and evolve templating capabilities that enable engineering teams to build and customize platform experiences more efficiently and consistently.
  • Full-stack engineering: Work across React, Node.js, TypeScript, and Ruby to develop platform capabilities and supporting services.
  • Software quality: Produce clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code while following established engineering standards and best practices.
  • Technical communication: Explain complex technical problems and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through discussions, presentations, and design documentation.
  • Cross-team initiatives: Collaborate with engineering teams on large-scale technical initiatives and contribute to the development of a unified, scalable global platform.
  • Technical standards: Establish and evolve team-level technical standards, engineering practices, and operational processes that improve development effectiveness and system quality.
  • Production reliability: Provide ongoing support for production UIs and services, including 24/7 operational coverage, with a focus on achieving 99.99% uptime.
  • Performance and scalability: Identify and recommend technical investments that improve the stability, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability of production services.
  • CI/CD: Build and improve modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems that enable reliable and deterministic software releases.
  • Operational strategy: Develop intuitive and scalable operational support strategies that enable new and junior developers to effectively contribute to production support.
  • Technical leadership: Support engineering leadership in assessing short- and long-term technical priorities, balancing immediate business needs with sustainable platform investments.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior developers and help them strengthen both their technical capabilities and professional skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including test-driven development and UI/API design.
  • Technology expertise: Strong experience with modern engineering technologies, with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Ruby on Rails preferred.
  • Frontend architecture: Strong understanding of scalable frontend architecture and experience with microfrontend concepts or comparable approaches.
  • Production operations: 5+ years of experience monitoring production systems, tuning alerts, responding to production incidents, and improving service reliability.
  • Scalability and performance: Demonstrated ability to identify technical investments and architectural improvements that strengthen stability, performance, and scalability.
  • CI/CD expertise: Experience building or contributing to modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems that support deterministic and dependable releases.
  • Technical leadership: Ability to influence architecture, establish technical standards, guide engineering practices, and contribute to complex, organization-wide initiatives.
  • Problem solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to balance short-term priorities with longer-term technical goals and make recommendations that support sustainable engineering outcomes.
  • Operational mindset: Ability to create practical, scalable operational support strategies for engineering teams.
  • Distributed collaboration: Experience working remotely and effectively collaborating with distributed teams.
  • Mentorship: Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to support the growth and development of less-experienced engineers.
  • English proficiency: Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Full-time employment: Full-time staff-level engineering position.
  • Bangalore-based role: Position located in Bangalore, India.
  • High-impact scope: Opportunity to work on a highly visible platform serving users at significant global scale.
  • Technical ownership: Strong opportunity to influence frontend architecture, platform strategy, engineering standards, scalability, and reliability.
  • Modern technology stack: Hands-on work with React, Node.js, TypeScript, Ruby, microfrontend concepts, templating systems, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Cross-functional environment: Collaboration across engineering and other technical teams on large-scale platform initiatives.
  • Leadership and mentorship: Opportunity to influence engineering practices and mentor junior developers while continuing to grow as a technical leader.
  • Operational excellence: Exposure to high-availability production systems and engineering practices focused on achieving 99.99% uptime.
  • Immediate opportunity: The position is intended for a candidate who can join immediately.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
