The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Systems Engineer Sr based in the United States.

This is an opportunity for an experienced systems engineer to support and optimize enterprise-scale network and endpoint infrastructure within a complex healthcare technology environment. You will leverage your expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), network communications, and systems administration to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing IT services. Working across network and endpoint technologies, you will troubleshoot complex technical issues, improve software deployment processes, and strengthen infrastructure resilience. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that support critical clinical and business operations. The role combines hands-on engineering, architectural improvements, project coordination, and continuous service optimization. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on technology reliability in healthcare, with occasional travel and participation in an on-call rotation.

Accountabilities

  • Systems Engineering and Infrastructure Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute complex system software installations, upgrades, configurations, and migrations. Ensure adherence to change management procedures while identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Microsoft Endpoint Management: Support and optimize MECM/SCCM services, including software distribution, operating system deployment, patch management, and integrations with network connectivity and Microsoft cloud services.
  • Network and Endpoint Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure issues spanning desktop systems, wide area networks, wireless environments, application delivery, and endpoint management. Identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Virtualization and Technical Solutions: Configure, install, and maintain virtualization technologies and distributed systems. Contribute throughout the solution lifecycle, including proof of concept, design, automation, testing, migration, implementation, and ongoing support.
  • System Integration and Performance Optimization: Evaluate technology stack components, troubleshoot hardware and software integration conflicts, monitor system capacity, and recommend improvements to ensure optimal performance across clinical and business environments.
  • Server Administration and Data Protection: Support server administration, backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity configurations to maintain system availability and data recoverability.
  • Application and Directory Services: Maintain the integrity of application delivery and directory administration, ensuring systems operate reliably and meet established quality assurance standards.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex hardware, software, network, wireless, and peripheral issues. Conduct root-cause analyses, track recurring problems, coordinate vendor escalations, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Project and Resource Coordination: Develop project tasks, work estimates, schedules, and resource requirements. Monitor progress, manage priorities, communicate status updates, and proactively address risks or potential delays.
  • Technical Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain technical documentation, testing procedures, implementation plans, and training materials. Mentor colleagues and explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technology Evaluation and Planning: Assess new and existing software products, translate business requirements into technical specifications, recommend architectural improvements, and contribute to capital expenditure reviews to ensure compatibility with established technology standards.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Typically, at least 5 years of experience working with Microsoft platforms, network communications, and project management.
  • Microsoft Endpoint Management: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), particularly its interaction with network infrastructure, software deployment, operating system imaging, patching, and Microsoft cloud services.
  • Systems and Network Engineering: Advanced understanding of operating systems, network communications, server and desktop environments, hardware and software integration, and the relationships between application code and underlying systems.
  • Infrastructure Administration: Experience with backup tools, storage systems, network management solutions, application delivery platforms, and directory services.
  • Troubleshooting and Root-Cause Analysis: Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex technical problems, identify underlying causes, coordinate escalations, and implement effective, lasting solutions.
  • Performance and Capacity Management: Knowledge of system monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, planning, documentation, and data presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments accurately and on time.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate user requirements into technical specifications and explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Project Management: Ability to coordinate technical implementations, estimate workloads and resource needs, manage changes, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Work Environment and Availability: Ability to work remotely, participate in an on-call rotation, provide support outside standard business hours, and travel when required. The position may occasionally involve exposure to clinical environments, equipment, dust, noise, and mechanical or electrical hazards, requiring appropriate protective measures.
  • Competitive Compensation: Hourly pay range of $47.50–$71.25, with the actual rate determined by qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and training.
  • Additional Compensation: Potential premium pay for shift work, on-call responsibilities, and other eligible assignments. Incentive pay may be available for select positions.
  • Performance-Based Increases: Opportunity for annual compensation increases based on performance.
  • Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with life insurance and short-term and long-term disability benefits.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
