The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Lead (Engineering) based in United States.

As a Technical Lead, you will combine hands-on software engineering with technical and people leadership in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment. You will build production-ready features while shaping the architecture and technical direction of major initiatives. The role spans the full product lifecycle, from database models and APIs to polished user-facing experiences. You will directly manage and mentor a team of 2–6 engineers, helping them grow through feedback, pairing, and thoughtful code reviews. Working closely with product and design partners, you will turn ambitious ideas into practical technical plans and reliable releases. You will also help establish engineering standards, strengthen system resilience, and continuously improve the codebase. This is an opportunity for a seasoned full-stack engineer who thrives on ownership, ambiguity, execution, and meaningful impact.

Accountabilities:

  • Analyze product requirements and develop high-quality, production-ready code that delivers strong user experiences.
  • Build and maintain user-facing features across the full stack, from database models and APIs to UI components.
  • Own the technical architecture for major initiatives and guide the team through complex technical decisions.
  • Develop services and APIs that support new and existing web application capabilities.
  • Maintain system and codebase health through refactoring, performance improvements, testing, and reliability initiatives.
  • Write clear technical specifications that support high-quality development and smooth deployments.
  • Lead large releases to production within a continuous deployment environment.
  • Establish and maintain technical standards for code quality, testing, architecture, and engineering excellence.
  • Directly manage 2–6 engineers, including regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions.
  • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, pairing sessions, code reviews, and support with problem-solving approaches.
  • Remove technical, process, and cross-functional blockers so the team can maintain momentum.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in hiring by interviewing candidates, assessing technical capabilities, and helping grow the engineering organization.
  • Partner with product and design teams to translate product vision into executable technical plans.
  • 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience across both frontend and backend development, with a strong record of delivering high-impact products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers, whether through formal people management or technical leadership.
  • Strong React fundamentals and professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
  • A strong understanding of building intuitive, high-quality, consumer-oriented digital experiences.
  • Experience working in a startup or similarly fast-paced environment where you have taken on multiple responsibilities and moved quickly.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence product direction, align stakeholders, and provide effective feedback.
  • A strong bias toward action and execution, with a willingness to remain hands-on in coding, system improvement, and technical problem-solving.
  • Ability to balance hands-on engineering responsibilities with people management and team leadership.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and creating structure, direction, and practical solutions where requirements are not fully defined.
  • Experience with technologies and tools such as TypeScript, NestJS, TypeORM, PostgreSQL, Redis, React, Tailwind, and GCP is valuable.
  • Applicants must be based in the United States.
  • Full-time remote position for candidates based in the United States.
  • Competitive compensation of $200,000–$230,000.
  • Opportunity to work closely with a highly talented engineering team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Significant ownership over technical architecture, engineering standards, and product development.
  • Opportunity to combine hands-on software development with technical leadership and people management.
  • Exposure to a modern technology stack spanning TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, React, Tailwind, and GCP.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
