The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VDC Manager based in the United States, with opportunities in Henderson, Nevada, and Phoenix, Arizona.

The VDC Manager leads Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) planning and execution across assigned construction projects, from early pursuit and preconstruction through construction and final handover. This role ensures high-quality delivery of digital construction workflows, including model coordination, design review, visualization, reality capture, and field technology. You will guide VDC Engineers, coordinate with trade partners and design teams, and work closely with project leadership to resolve issues before they affect project outcomes. The position combines technical expertise, construction knowledge, team leadership, and client engagement. You will also help drive technology adoption, improve project delivery processes, and strengthen VDC standards across the organization. This is an opportunity to influence complex construction projects while contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

  • Lead VDC planning and execution for assigned projects, maintaining delivery quality from project initiation through closeout.
  • Support project pursuits by developing VDC narratives, construction approaches, visualization strategies, logistics concepts, and interview presentation materials in collaboration with preconstruction and marketing teams.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors.
  • Develop and manage the VDC Management Plan for each assigned project, defining coordination processes, subcontractor modeling requirements, meeting schedules, issue-tracking protocols, and deliverable timelines.
  • Lead design reviews and constructability analyses using project drawings and digital models.
  • Coordinate with preconstruction teams on quantity tracking and cost support, where required.
  • Direct VDC Engineers during preconstruction, assigning tasks, setting expectations, reviewing deliverables, and providing clear feedback.
  • Oversee existing-conditions documentation, including reality capture, as-built reviews, and site verification at project startup.
  • Manage VDC workflows during construction, including model coordination, visualization, design reviews, reality capture, and field technology implementation.
  • Lead model coordination meetings, maintain issue logs, and track commitments and resolutions with trade partners.
  • Represent VDC in project discussions with project managers, superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Support technology adoption by training field staff on digital workflows and contributing to broader technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate reality capture activities across projects using laser scanning and aerial drones.
  • Support Requests for Information (RFIs) by using model and coordination data to clarify design and construction issues.
  • Communicate project status, emerging risks, delivery concerns, and schedule impacts proactively to senior VDC leadership.
  • Lead the preparation and quality review of as-built models and record documentation in accordance with contractual requirements and internal standards.
  • Coordinate final reality capture, verify deliverables, and manage the handover of VDC documentation to owners or facilities teams.
  • Conduct closeout lessons-learned reviews and share findings to improve department-wide standards and practices.
  • Contribute to VDC training and professional development initiatives, develop learning materials, and deliver training in areas of expertise.
  • Identify opportunities to implement innovative technologies, improve workflows, and strengthen VDC marketing materials and client-facing project narratives.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of experience in design and construction, with demonstrated ability to independently manage VDC deliverables across multiple project phases.
  • Proven ability to direct and develop others by setting clear expectations, reviewing work, providing constructive feedback, and holding team members accountable for quality.
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery methods and how VDC supports preconstruction, design coordination, field operations, and project closeout.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent VDC independently in project-level discussions with operations teams, design professionals, and trade contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, practices, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience leading model coordination meetings and managing relationships with trade partners on active construction projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant VDC and construction technology tools, such as Autodesk Build, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Model Coordination, Revit, Lumion or Twinmotion, Leica RTC 360, DroneDeploy, and Trimble field layout tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor information to project teams, trade contractors, design partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, including the ability to identify coordination issues, evaluate alternatives, and resolve problems before they affect project delivery.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple assigned projects without compromising quality or deadlines.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with a commitment to consistent application of VDC standards and ongoing technical development.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies, changing project requirements, and organizational growth.
  • A BIM or VDC industry certification is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel locally to jobsites, with occasional overnight travel to regional locations as needed.
  • Ability to access and navigate offices and active construction sites and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Compensation: Salary ranges are determined by factors including education, training, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and market conditions. A specific salary range was not disclosed in the provided posting, and compensation may vary by location.
  • Annual incentives: Eligible employees may participate in annual cash bonus programs, subject to applicable plan terms.
  • Health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.

  • Insurance protection: Company-paid term life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with company matching.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
