  • Operate various handheld and gas-powered landscaping tools and equipment, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, power trimmers, blowers, tillers, stone cutters, power washers, and snow blowers.
  • Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on landscaping equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation.
  • Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flower beds, and lawns through mowing, raking, pruning, and preparing seasonal displays.
  • Maintain outdoor facilities by cleaning and servicing washrooms, replacing burnt-out light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, and inspecting roadways and walkways for deficiencies or safety hazards.
  • Prepare ground surfaces for landscaping projects involving decorative rocks, pavers, and other landscape materials.
  • Operate service trucks and trailers as required, including refuelling, conducting daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections, maintaining vehicle logbooks, and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Assist work crews during adverse weather conditions to maintain safe areas for employees and members of the public.
  • Help establish and maintain work zones, barricades, and other safety measures.
  • Follow established workplace safety procedures and complete required training in WHMIS, transit operating rules, defensive driving, trailer handling, chainsaw use, and other relevant areas.
  • Treat employees and members of the public respectfully, accommodate accessibility needs within the scope of the role, and contribute to an inclusive, discrimination-free work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 12 months of practical landscaping experience, including planting, pruning, mowing, and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.
  • Experience operating landscaping machinery and equipment, such as lawn mowers, string trimmers, and chainsaws.
  • Completion of Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Valid, non-probationary Ontario Class G driver's licence or higher.
  • Ability to read and interpret property drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, operating procedures, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Willingness to complete required training and certifications, including WHMIS, transit system safety rules, defensive driving, trailer hookup, and chainsaw operation.
  • Ability to understand or quickly acquire knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related accessibility and disability accommodation requirements.
  • Ability to work various shifts and days, including weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, accessibility, and respectful service.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
