PacArctic, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Assistant Team Lead with a Top-Secret security clearance to support Pac and our government customer in Winchester, VA. Koniag is seeking an experienced Assistant Team Lead Research Analyst to support the FBI’s Enterprise Vetting Center (EVC). The Assistant Team Lead will provide day-to-day support to the Team Lead while assisting Research Analysts with routine research activities, quality reviews, workload management, and process-related questions. This position is an important part of the EVC leadership structure and provides an opportunity for an experienced Research Analyst to take on additional leadership responsibilities while continuing to perform hands-on analytical work. The Assistant Team Lead will help ensure analysts have the guidance and resources they need to produce accurate, timely, and high-quality work, with a particular focus on non-reportable information requests. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and dependable analyst who can effectively support junior team members, recognize issues that require escalation, and help maintain team productivity and quality. The Assistant Team Lead will serve as a first-line resource for routine questions and issues, allowing the Team Lead to focus on more complex matters and broader team responsibilities. What You’ll Do:
Assist the Team Lead with the day-to-day leadership and coordination of Research Analysts supporting FBI EVC operations. Assist in reviewing and validating the work of junior analysts to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of reports and research findings. Conduct quality reviews with particular emphasis on non-reportable information requests. Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or errors that require additional research, clarification, or review by the Team Lead. Assist analysts with derogatory information assessments, background research, and personnel vetting activities. Help manage routine workloads and coordinate assignments to support team deadlines and maintain consistent performance. Monitor routine tasking and assist the Team Lead in balancing workload across team members. Serve as a readily accessible resource for junior analysts by answering routine questions and providing guidance on established processes and procedures. Coach and mentor analysts on everyday research activities, analytical practices, and quality expectations. Provide constructive feedback regarding routine inquiries, technical questions, research findings, and work products. Help identify issues that may affect the accuracy, quality, or timeliness of team deliverables and elevate them to the Team Lead when appropriate. Assist analysts in resolving routine research and process-related issues. Communicate simple to moderate analytical issues, questions, and recommendations clearly to team members and program leadership. Support the Team Lead with analyst onboarding, training, and development activities. Promote consistent adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and operational requirements. Identify opportunities to improve routine workflows, processes, and team efficiency. Maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive, personally identifiable, law enforcement-sensitive, and/or classified information in accordance with applicable security regulations, policies, and procedures. Work collaboratively with Team Leads, Research Analysts, and program leadership to support effective EVC operations.
What You’ll Bring:
A Research Analyst qualification or equivalent experience. At least one (1) year of experience supporting the FBI Enterprise Vetting Center (EVC) or related personnel vetting processes. Experience assisting with the review and validation of junior analysts’ work. Experience or familiarity with derogatory information assessments, background checks, personnel vetting, or related analytical research. Ability to manage routine workloads and assist with balancing assignments across a team to meet established deadlines. Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing non-reportable information and identifying discrepancies or potential issues. Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, mentoring, and support to junior analysts. Ability to provide constructive feedback regarding routine research questions, technical issues, and work products. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain simple to moderate issues and processes. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve routine issues or provide clarification regarding research processes and findings. Ability to recognize when an issue requires escalation to the Team Lead or program management. Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive or classified information in accordance with applicable security regulations, policies, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting FBI EVC operations. Experience serving as a senior or lead Research Analyst, peer mentor, quality reviewer, or similar role. Experience conducting quality reviews of analytical or investigative work products. Experience supporting non-reportable information requests. Experience training or mentoring junior analysts. Experience with federal personnel vetting, background investigations, investigative research, or national security-related analytical activities. Demonstrated interest in developing toward a formal Team Lead or supervisory role.
