Koniag Technology Solutions, inc a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support KTS and our government customer. The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position will be part of a team supporting a Federal client with a business and IT modernization project. The Configuration Management Specialist ensures that all system components, code, and environments are properly tracked, controlled, and documented throughout the software development lifecycle. This person plays a key role in system security, compliance, and transition planning. Key Responsibilities:
Manage version control processes using the USDA-provided GitHub repository Maintain configuration baselines for all system components, including code, dependencies, and infrastructure Ensure all software dependencies are documented with licenses as required by PWS deliverable standards Track and manage changes to deployment scripts, infrastructure configurations, and environment settings Support CI/CD pipeline maintenance in coordination with the Architect/DevOps Engineer Ensure all software is current, supported, and compliant with end-of-life policies Maintain a complete and current inventory of all devices and media storing sensitive government information Prepare and maintain system documentation at designated SDLC milestones and at contract expiration Support the development of hand-off plans and transition documentation Assist with media sanitization documentation per NIST SP 800-88 at contract closeout Ensure compliance with Binding Operational Directives and DHS cybersecurity requirements
Required Skills:
Experience with configuration management in a federal IT environment Proficiency with GitHub and version control best practices Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated deployment processes Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and federal records management requirements Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Experience supporting ATO processes and security assessments is a plus

Education & Experience: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in configuration management, IT systems administration, or a related discipline on federal government projects Demonstrated experience managing version control systems and software configuration baselines Experience supporting SDLC documentation and artifact management for federal IT systems Familiarity with NIST SP 800-88 media sanitization requirements and federal records retention policies Experience supporting or participating in ATO processes and security control assessments Knowledge of federal records management regulations including NARA retention schedules
Certifications:
ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Security+, Certified Configuration Manager (CCM), or similar certifications strongly preferred. CISSP or CAP (Certified Authorization Professional) is a plus
