Koniag Data Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Strategic Communications/Social Media with a Secret Security clearance to support KDS and our government customer at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to provide communications planning, digital content development, and senior-leader support for key customer initiatives. The position develops clear, accurate communications products across web and communications platforms; coordinates with subject-matter experts and stakeholders; and supports public-release and media-response processes. Key Responsibilities: Essential functions, responsibilities, and duties may include, but are not limited to:
Provide ongoing strategic digital counsel, working with internal teams to identify areas of opportunities to strengthen current initiatives. Development of formal communications plans, campaign strategies, schedules, and audience segmentation. Develop communications materials that clearly describe and promote the organization and its key initiatives including graphics, fact sheets, logos, and related products. Develop briefing materials, including PowerPoint presentations for senior leaders. Coordinate with subject-matter experts across the Office of the Secretary of War, military commands, and other stakeholders to obtain background information, supporting details, and imagery. Conduct research and using authoritative sources to support the development of accurate, timely, and well-informed communication products. Revise draft materials in response to leadership and stakeholder feedback while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and timeliness. Prepare communication products for public release and clearance review in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Draft responses to media inquiries with clarity, accuracy, and appropriate coordination.
Qualifications: Education:
Master’s degree in Communications, Computer Science, or a related field and at least four years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and six years of experience.
Skills and Experience:
Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and stakeholder feedback. Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated graphic design experience creating clear, visually compelling digital content including infographics, and presentation materials using tools such as PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with Google Analytics to monitor website traffic, assess audience engagement, and inform data-driven improvements to digital communications content and strategy. Experience designing and maintaining intuitive, visually engaging SharePoint sites that organize communications content clearly and support effective user navigation. Experience preparing executive-level products for senior military leadership and other high-level officials. Ability to work effectively with senior military leaders and executives in preparing internal and external communications products.
Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret security clearance required, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Department of War security clearance.
Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting Department of War test and evaluation, research and engineering, and/or defense acquisition efforts. Experience using the Armed Forces Public Information Management System (AFPIMS) and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) to create, update, publish, and maintain web and visual-information content in accordance with organizational standards. Experience applying Section 508 accessibility requirements to create and maintain accessible, conformant digital content and websites Experience creating and editing engaging video content for digital platforms, including scripting, recording, editing, captioning, and post-production.
