Job Description

We Create Products and Brands That People Trust to Clean, Sanitize, and Protect Their Homes and Pools

When you join KIK Consumer Products, you’re joining a team that cares about the work we do and also about each other. We bring exceptional brands and products to consumers that help them protect the health and wellness of their families and the cleanliness of their homes and pools. We are committed to building a culture of performance driven by accountability, collaboration, and agility that enables timely fact-based decision-making and exceptional execution with unwavering ethics. As one of North America’s largest independent manufacturers of consumer products, KIK helps a large portfolio of brands and retailers bring their products to life.

Your Role at KIK

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:30pm, Monday-Friday with weekends per business need). In this role you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and monitoring equipment, conducting repairs and replacements. You’ll be a key contributor to the success of our plant. Bring your expertise and tools to a dynamic environment that values efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. This position has an hourly rate of $34-$36.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently identify, diagnose, and repair equipment issues within the assigned area with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and basic automation-related equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical equipment breakdowns and provide timely, practical solutions using skills in mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, and analytical problem solving.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, and improve machinery and equipment in the processing and packaging departments, including bottling and filling equipment, gantry palletizers, conveyors, pumps, and related systems.
  • Perform general electrical repairs, including wire connections, relays, photo-eyes, solenoids, motors, and variable-speed drives. Safely work with 120V to 480V systems, use a multimeter, and read electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment and control systems, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms. Use PLC interfaces, HMIs, and SCADA systems to interpret alarms, monitor equipment conditions, identify root causes, and restore safe operation.
  • This role is not responsible for PLC programming or modifying control logic. Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Controls, and Operations personnel to diagnose and resolve control-system issues.
  • Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of equipment used in the unloading, transfer, and processing of chlorine railcars and associated chemical-processing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation, valves, piping systems, pumps, automated controls, and related equipment supporting chlorine handling and processing.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Production, Quality, and HESS to support safe, compliant, and efficient chemical-processing operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs; document planned and emergency work accurately in the CMMS.
  • Modify, repair, install, and troubleshoot conveyor systems, including roller, belt, Intralox, gravity, chain, and plate conveyor types.
  • Diagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot, and replace various types of pumps.
  • Set up, take down, relocate, and modify processing and packaging equipment to support production needs and new products.
  • Use general shop tools and fabrication equipment, including grinders, saws, presses, lathes, and mills.
  • Follow all Company requirements for Good Manufacturing Practices, lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, chemical exposure response, and site-specific environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  • Promptly respond to equipment issues in a professional, customer-oriented manner and communicate clearly with affected teams.
  • Safely lift, twist, carry, push, or pull up to 45 pounds; work in temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled environments; and work around elevated noise levels as required.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including a full-face respirator, when assigned work requires it.
  • Follow all Company safety requirements and applicable environmental, health, safety, electrical, and chemical-handling regulations, including lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, and exposure-response procedures.
  • Through KIK, successfully complete and maintain required HazWhopper training and Incident Response to support this process and the Operators of this process, KIK internal chlorine training, and respirator fit testing.
  • Serve as an active site First Responder for chemical or other emergency incidents and participate in related drills, response activities, and equipment-readiness requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of mechanical maintenance experience in a high-speed packaging, manufacturing, chemical-processing, or similar industrial environment required. Food, consumer products, or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with PLC-controlled systems, such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms, and the ability to troubleshoot PLC-based equipment and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret ladder logic, respond to equipment alarms, and use HMI or SCADA interfaces to support troubleshooting. PLC programming experience is not required.
  • Experience working in or supporting hazardous chemical environments; chlorine handling, railcar unloading, chemical transfer, or chemical-processing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of process-safety practices, including lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, and chemical exposure-response procedures.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, pump, and process equipment maintenance.
  • Experience using a CMMS to document maintenance work, equipment history, and follow-up actions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time-management, organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Capabilities

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
