The posting

The staff accountant will assist the Finance Department in performing multiple duties related to the accounting functions of the organization within established deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Prepare, record, and process accounts payable and cash disbursement, and accounts receivable and cash receipts.
  • Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
  • Prepare allocation tables for indirect expenses and revenue items as needed.
  • Assist in the posting of accounts to the general ledger for: accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements and payroll.
  • Review open invoice reports and follow up with a schedule of payments or adjustments.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with the month end and audit process.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
  • Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Associate degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1+ years Hotel accounting experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Basic algebra and geometry skills.
  • Experience solving practical problems and the ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel and working knowledge of Opera Cloud and Infogenesis preferred.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary range: $15.00 USD - $18.00 USD per hour, plus gratuities.
