The posting

The General Accounting Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements by overseeing the completion and review of team activities within specified timelines. This role involves close collaboration with other section heads to ensure adherence to month-end closing procedures and the evaluation of team performance through key performance indicators and quarterly reviews.

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Consolidate financial statements at month-end for all entities.
  • Monitor and report on the completion rates of month-end tasks and audit functions.
  • Coordinate with finance analysts on budgeting and departmental reports, and assist in the monthly account reconciliation process.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of accounting specialists and senior specialists.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses, and support auxiliary schedules for auditing purposes.
  • Work closely with audit teams and other section heads to enhance process flows for better control and risk management.
  • Maintain, track, and report on monthly KPI performance metrics and quarterly performance evaluations.
  • Design audit schedules for external auditors.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the superior or as requested by other departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in supervising teams.
  • Effective collaboration and team-playing capabilities.
  • Deadline-oriented with a commitment to integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Atleast 3 years relevant experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems (Netsuite)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage team dynamics and interact with various departments.
