The posting

Are you curious about what makes businesses, people, and culture move? Can you turn complex questions into a clear point of view — and translate that thinking into brand strategies that inspire great design?

Kurppa Hosk Oslo is looking for a Brand Strategist who combines analytical rigour with creative curiosity. Someone who asks better questions, challenges the obvious, and enjoys working closely with others to turn insight into meaningful change.

The opportunity

You’ll join our Oslo team of designers, client leads, and strategists, working at the intersection of business strategy and creative expression. Together, we help organisations define who they are, where they want to go, and how their brands can help them get there.

This is a hands-on strategy role, with scope, responsibility, and support tailored to your experience and strengths. Depending on your background, you might take ownership of individual workstreams or lead broader strategic engagements, always in close collaboration with the team. You’ll work from the first research question through to strategic recommendations, helping ensure that the thinking translates into distinctive identities, communication, and brand experiences.

The role is based on site at our Oslo office, with a preferred start date as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

You’ll help organisations understand what is changing, define where they need to go, and clarify the role their brand can play in getting them there.

Main responsibilities

  • Explore businesses, categories, audiences, and culture through research, interviews, and analysis.
  • Turn complex information into clear insights, compelling narratives, and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop brand positioning, brand platforms, and strategic briefs that connect commercial ambition with creative opportunity.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops and contribute to productive conversations with clients.
  • Work side by side with designers and creatives to bring strategic ideas to life.
  • Build convincing presentations and communicate your thinking clearly — on the page and in the room.
  • Lead strategic workstreams, keeping colleagues and clients aligned on direction and next steps.
  • Contribute to pitches, new business opportunities, and the development of our strategic craft.

What we’re looking for

You’re interested in both how businesses work and how people think. You enjoy making sense of complexity, but you don’t stop at analysis: you want to take a position and help create something better.

You might already work in brand strategy, or come from an adjacent field such as insights, business strategy, communication, journalism, or creative development. What matters is your ability to connect insight with a clear strategic direction — and your curiosity about how that direction can become great creative work.

You’re thoughtful, collaborative, and generous with your ideas. You welcome constructive challenge, take ownership of your work, and care about the quality of what the team creates together.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in brand strategy or adjacent strategic work. Whether you bring a couple of years of experience or a decade of practice, we’re more interested in how you think, what you can contribute, and your potential than a specific number of years. We’ll shape the scope and level of the role around the right person.
  • Experience translating research and insight into strategic recommendations, with examples of how your work influenced a brand or business.
  • An understanding of brand building and a genuine interest in culture, consumer behaviour, and design.
  • Confidence presenting your thinking, contributing to workshops, and collaborating with clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English.
  • Relevant higher education, or an equivalent foundation built through practical experience.

Who we are and what we offer

Kurppa Hosk is a brand agency built for decisive moments. Across Europe and the U.S., our team of 200+ partners with companies at the moments that define them, when clarity is required, and compromise is costly. Working closely with leaders, we help turn bold decisions into confident brands that stand out far from the middle to create momentum and drive demand. We work with brave organisations, from early-stage start-ups like Heart Aerospace and Källa to established brands like Zalando, Scania, Nike, Meta, and Minecraft.

We’re also a founding member of Eidra, a collective of specialist companies, so you’ll have management consultants, digital experts, and product innovators down the hall.

The Oslo office

Our Oslo team consists of 30 designers, account directors, and strategists located in newly renovated offices on Bankplassen in the historical area of Kvadraturen. As we continue to strengthen our strategic offering and grow our international impact, we are looking for a Brand Strategist to help shape the next phase of our journey.

What we offer

  • A creative environment with high ambitions for both strategic thinking and design.
  • Varied brand challenges and the opportunity to work on Norwegian and international projects.
  • Responsibility for your own workstreams, alongside close collaboration and professional sparring.
  • Opportunities to develop through coaching and knowledge sharing within Kurppa Hosk and Eidra.
  • A collaborative culture built on curiosity, clear thinking, and respect for each other’s expertise.
  • Newly renovated offices at Bankplassen, with all the facilities you need for a great working day — and a lunch worth looking forward to.
  • Competitive terms reflecting your experience and responsibilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
