Job Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and executing LZB's long-term maintenance, reliability, and asset health strategy across a multi-site manufacturing and corporate footprint, including five U.S. manufacturing facilities, corporate headquarters, and two manufacturing locations in Mexico. This leader will build a multi-year roadmap to improve asset health, equipment reliability, facility performance, and maintenance capability while ensuring strong day-to-day maintenance execution. The role requires a leader who is equally comfortable developing strategy in the conference room and driving execution on the plant floor. This position will bring a strong combination of Maintenance, Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations experience, with demonstrated success transforming maintenance organizations from reactive environments toward disciplined preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance. The role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, and plant leadership to ensure assets and facilities are safe, reliable, capable, and positioned to support long-term growth.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

· Develop and execute a 3-5 year enterprise maintenance and asset health strategy across U.S. and Mexico operations.

· Establish asset strategies based on equipment criticality, condition, lifecycle, operational risk, and business impact.

· Create a roadmap that moves the organization from reactive maintenance toward planned, preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.

· Provide leadership for day-to-day maintenance performance across five U.S. manufacturing locations, two Mexico manufacturing locations, and corporate headquarters.

· Establish a disciplined operating system for maintenance planning, scheduling, execution, performance review, Root Cause Analysis, failure analysis, and defect elimination.

· Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, eliminate ineffective PM activities, and reduce chronic and repetitive equipment failures.

· Partner with Engineering and Operations on equipment specifications, selection, commissioning, installation, startup, maintainability, standardization, lifecycle cost, modernization, and capital planning.

· Build a high-performing maintenance and reliability organization by developing leaders, planners, supervisors, engineers, and skilled trades personnel.

· Establish enterprise standards, roles, competency expectations, career paths, training, succession plans, and knowledge-sharing practices.

· Create a culture in which Operations and Maintenance jointly own equipment reliability and asset health, including effective autonomous maintenance practices.

· Develop an enterprise MRO and critical spare-parts strategy based on equipment criticality, lead time, failure risk, and operational impact.

· Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement to improve vendor strategy, inventory effectiveness, standardization, and total maintenance cost.

· Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards and applicable regulations, including electrical safety, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, contractor management, and safe-work permitting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing multi-year maintenance and asset reliability strategies.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance, equipment criticality, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, maintenance planning and scheduling, CMMS systems, MRO and critical spare parts, and capital planning and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience building and developing maintenance organizations and technical talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence plant managers and senior operations leaders across a decentralized, multi-site organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
