The posting

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community.

The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Putting on an Olympic and Paralympic Games is a team sport. To build a Games unlike any the world has seen before, we need the best team in place–a team full of diverse perspectives, experiences and expertise. We are guided by the following set of values and behaviors–optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness–and look forward to hearing about how your past experiences align with them.

Services Associate, Road Events

As Services Associate, Road Events, you are the dedicated sport contact for services matters with the IFs (UCI, World Triathlon and World Athletics) covering accommodation, transportation, accreditation, and hospitality. You work alongside the Sport Managers and technical operations leads across the different disciplines, keeping databases, planning documents, and team meetings current. You advocate for athletes, technical officials, and federation guests, and you lead paid staff and sport-specific volunteers at Games time. It suits a natural organizer who creates order and structure from ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally, lead the development, optimization, and delivery of venue-based Event Operations plans for the venues, road operations and city operations.
  • Act as the dedicated sport contact for services matters with the International Federations across cycling, athletics and Triathlon disciplines.
  • Coordinate team and administrative operations, monitoring and sharing databases, resource documents, planning schedules, and team meetings.
  • Advocate for and coordinate services for all sport stakeholders, including athletes, technical officials, federation staff, and guests.
  • Manage a team of full-time employees, including scheduling, task delegation, training, and on-site management.
  • Manage sport-specific volunteers across recruitment, retention, training, scheduling, recognition, and task delegation.

Required Competencies

  • 3+ years of experience in international sporting events, with understanding and ability to use project management tools.
  • Experience collaborating with National and International Federations and knowledge of their structure and functioning during events.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operational elements required for organizing major sports events and competitions internationally.
  • Experience managing a team of staff and volunteers at major events, across multiple projects involving numerous stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of project management and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

Valued Experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Skills in report writing and presentation materials.
  • Experience working with a National Sport Federation.
  • Knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Long-term interest in Olympic and Paralympic sport.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to help deliver road cycling at a once-in-a-generation Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • A collaborative, inclusive team guided by optimism, integrity, excellence, and boldness.
  • Meaningful ownership of a sport service operation you help shape from the ground up.
  • Work with lasting, visible impact on Los Angeles and the legacy of the Games.

What This Role Means for the Games

Road cycling moves through the city itself, so the services around it have to work faultlessly for athletes, officials, and the federation. Your coordination and team leadership make that experience dependable, and it becomes part of what Los Angeles is remembered for.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Ability to be present and active on-site across various venue locations during events.
  • Able to work outdoors in varying conditions, including sun, wind, and rain.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
