Job Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Global Key Account Sales Director to join the Power & Thermal Management division. The Global Key Account Sales Director will accelerate growth with strategic hyperscale and data center customers at a time when AI, cloud expansion, power availability, and speed-to-deploy are reshaping the global data center market. This role calls for a proven sales leader within the Global Key Account (GKA) space who can build executive-level customer relationships, drive global account strategy, and position Starline as the partner of choice for mission-critical overhead power distribution solutions.

The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of the data center ecosystem, including hyperscale design standards, high-density compute environments, electrical infrastructure, overhead busway/busbar systems, and the commercial discipline required to win, grow, and retain global key accounts. Serving as the primary commercial leader for assigned GKAs, the successful candidate will partner closely with customer design engineering, construction, operations, procurement, category management, sustainability, and executive stakeholders while aligning Starline’s field sales, applications engineering, operations, product management, customer service, and Legrand sister divisions around account growth and effective execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the global account strategy for assigned hyperscale and strategic data center GKAs, including revenue growth, pipeline development, account penetration, and long-term partnership plans.
  • Serve as the senior commercial point of contact for customer stakeholders across design engineering, construction, procurement, category management, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Position Starline’s overhead power distribution solutions, including busway and busbar products, as critical enablers of speed, flexibility, scalability, and reliability in modern data center environments.
  • Influence customer design standards and specifications by partnering with engineering and technical teams to demonstrate the value of modular overhead power distribution architectures.
  • Identify new applications, geographies, campuses, and expansion opportunities within existing global key accounts, including AI, hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, edge, and network support environments.
  • Lead commercial strategy for RFQs, proposals, contract negotiations, customer commitments, project documentation, and executive-level business reviews.
  • Partner with operations, applications engineering, project management, customer service, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure global account priorities are aligned, resourced, and executed in a timely manner.
  • Drive accurate forecasting, opportunity management, and account planning through Salesforce CRM and other commercial tools.
  • Monitor data center market trends, AI-driven infrastructure demand, power density requirements, emerging electrical architectures, competitive activity, and customer capital deployment plans.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international sales teams, channel partners, and Legrand sister divisions to maximize global market penetration and customer value.
  • Develop and deliver clear and effective value propositions, executive presentations, business cases, and account growth plans tailored to global data center customers.
  • Represent Starline at data center industry events, customer summits, and strategic business reviews to strengthen market presence and customer engagement.
  • Achieve or exceed annual revenue, margin, pipeline, and account growth objectives.
  • Promote the company’s image, reputation, and brand identity by maintaining high standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another closely related technical/engineering field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales, global account management, business development, or strategic customer leadership experience, including demonstrated success with GKA-level customers.
  • Proven sales leadership experience in the data center industry, with a strong understanding of hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and high-density compute environments.
  • Deep knowledge of overhead power supply and distribution products used in data centers, including busway, busbar, power distribution systems, electrical infrastructure, and related mission-critical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence customer design standards, specifications, and future data center architectures to support scalable, modular overhead power distribution solutions.
  • Track record of growing revenue, expanding wallet share, and converting complex global opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.
  • Experience leading cross-functional global teams through complex sales cycles, project execution, forecasting, negotiation, and customer escalation management.
  • MBA, Electrical Engineering studies, or advanced technical/commercial training preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead, grow, and retain global key accounts in complex, technical, high-growth markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate customer growth plans, data center build strategies, and technical requirements into profitable revenue opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of data center power infrastructure, overhead power distribution, busway/busbar systems, electrical design considerations, and mission-critical customer requirements.
  • Ability to engage credibly with engineering, construction, procurement, operations, and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Executive-level communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Results-oriented sales leader with strong business discipline, strategic account planning capabilities, and a focus on timely action.
  • Ability to lead through influence across global, matrixed, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms, including Salesforce.com.
  • International/global experience and perspective strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
