Are you mechanically minded and looking for something different from the typical shop or service job? Levitt-Safety is looking for a hands-on Fire Suppression Technician to join our Edmonton team. You'll work on heavy equipment, vehicles and mining machinery, installing and servicing fire suppression systems that protect people and equipment in some of Canada's toughest work environments. What You'll Be Doing You'll spend your days out in the field and in our Edmonton shop:
Install, inspect, service and repair vehicle fire suppression systems (VFSS) Work on heavy equipment, vehicles and large mining machinery Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues Install and service fire extinguishers and other safety equipment Visit customer sites and provide professional, reliable service Work alongside experienced technicians and build your fire & life safety expertise Support the Edmonton shop team when needed Travel out of town and participate in after-hours/on-call work as required Every day can look a little different - and you'll be working on equipment where your work genuinely helps protect people and their workplaces.
What We're Looking For You don't have to come from the fire industry. We're interested in people who know their way around equipment and enjoy figuring things out. You might be a great fit if you have:
Experience working with vehicles, heavy equipment, machinery or mechanical systems Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Basic electrical knowledge A hands-on, take-it-apart-and-figure-it-out mindset Good customer service and communication skills Comfort using technology such as iPads, phones and laptops A valid driver's licence and clean driver's abstract
Flexibility for occasional out-of-town travel
VFSS, fire suppression or fire protection experience is an asset - but we'll train the right person. Why Levitt-Safety?
Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications Medical, dental, vision, EAP and family benefits Company-matched RRSP program Annual profit-sharing opportunity Paid training and opportunities to develop new skills A supportive, family-oriented team The opportunity to build a career in the growing fire & life safety industry with a Canadian company that’s been keeping people safe for over 90 years.
Choose the Safe Way, Always This is an active, hands-on role where you'll work around vehicles, heavy equipment and machinery, often in outdoor and industrial environments. You’ll need to be comfortable working in tight spaces, at heights and on uneven terrain, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Most importantly, safety comes first. We’re looking for someone who takes a safety-first approach to every job, follows safe work practices and isn’t afraid to speak up when something doesn’t look right. Your work helps protect people, equipment and worksites - so doing the job safely is just as important as doing it well.
