Job Purpose

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support our Finance function. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective financial management that supports the business’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records.
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure timely and compliant filing of statutory obligations including PAYE, VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Income Tax, and NSSF contributions.
  • Assist in cashflow management, ensuring effective monitoring of income and expenditures.
  • Perform bank and ledger reconciliations.
  • Support preparation of financial statements, including:Cash Flow Statement Statement of Comprehensive Income Statement of Financial Position
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems.
  • Provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with management to implement best practices in financial management.
  • Any other finance-related duties as may be assigned

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (Accounting/Finance major preferred).
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience (internship experience will be considered).
  • Basic knowledge of EFRIS and accounting software (Zoho Books preferred; QuickBooks or Tally can also be considered).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ethics, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and marketing.
