At Lives Lived Well, we believe recovery is possible. We're currently seeking AOD Support Workers to join our Bundaberg Rehabilitation team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support people experiencing alcohol and other drug related challenges while working within a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to helping people achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Shift Availability Required We are particularly interested in candidates who are available for:
Passive sleepover shifts Weekend day shifts
Typical Sleepover Shift
Commences at 4:00pm Sleepover component from 10:00pm to 6:00am Morning support duties following the sleepover (6:00am to 8:00am)
If you're looking for regular overnight and weekend work, have the flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice when required, and are passionate about supporting people in recovery, we'd love to hear from you. About the Role As an AOD Support Worker, you will provide direct support to residents participating in residential rehabilitation and withdrawal (detox) programs. Working within a trauma-informed and recovery-focused environment, you will support residents through admissions, discharges, daily activities, group programs and community activities while helping maintain a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
Support residents throughout their recovery journey. Complete admissions and discharge processes. Facilitate group programs and resident activities. Assist residents to identify strengths and work towards recovery goals. Support recreational and community-based activities. Maintain accurate resident records and documentation. Respond appropriately to residents requiring support. Work within a trauma-informed and strengths-based framework. Contribute to a safe, supportive and recovery-focused environment.
About You You are compassionate, reliable and committed to helping people achieve positive change. Most importantly, you bring a non-judgemental attitude, strong professional boundaries and a genuine desire to support people on their recovery journey. Essential Requirements
Ability and willingness to work passive sleepover shifts and weekend day shifts. Flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice when required. Strong professional boundaries and ethical practice. Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Commitment to working within a recovery-focused environment. Current Australian Driver's Licence. Ability to obtain a National Police Check. Currently hold, be working towards, or be willing to obtain a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, Community Services or a related field.
Desirable
Experience working in alcohol and other drug services. Experience facilitating group programs. Experience supporting people with complex or challenging behaviours. Experience working within residential, community services or healthcare environments. Understanding of trauma-informed practice. Lived experience of recovery and a passion for supporting others.
