Location Requirement: The work arrangement for this role is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three (3) days in one of our Segra offices, with flexibility to work remotely two (2) days each week.

Role Overview: The Managed Services Engineer II, Data Services applies systems analysis techniques, network design methodology, and engineering judgment to architect, configure, deploy, and maintain Segra’s managed data-services platform. The role analyzes customer requirements and translates them into technical specifications for layer 2/layer 3 solutions, develops and tests automation scripts for device provisioning and configuration management, and designs IP addressing schemes across complex multi-site environments. Daily responsibilities require the independent exercise of discretion in evaluating network topologies, diagnosing service-affecting conditions, and recommending design modifications. Work is performed in collaboration with internal engineering teams and external customers across enterprise, government, and carrier segments. This position operates on a first-shift schedule with a rotating on-call obligation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and progressive technical experience. CCNA or comparable industry certification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, network design, or software/script development within telecommunications or information technology environments. Demonstrated application of systems analysis techniques to data managed-services design and deployment. Experience designing, developing, testing, and documenting configuration specifications for data managed-services solutions. Experience analyzing customer requirements and translating them into technical specifications in collaboration with customers and vendors. Systematic diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues, with thorough documentation in ticketing and configuration-management platforms.

Key Competencies:

Understanding layer 2, layer 3 circuit operation including VPLS, VPRN, and DIA/IES services with Border Gateway Protocol. Provision and troubleshoot data equipment related to managed services deployment to include Meraki MX and MS devices, Arista Velocloud, Fortinet, Adtran routers and switches. Systems analysis and solution design, applying advanced product knowledge to develop technically sound configurations. Analytical troubleshooting methodology: ability to isolate root cause through systematic evaluation of configurations, logs, and protocol behavior. Strong interpersonal communication skills necessary.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
