Overview

Join our India Headquarters in Cybercity, Gurgaon, as an Accounting Manager, leading the accounting function for our Gurgaon subsidiary in close partnership with Corporate Accounting in the US. You will ensure accurate and timely statutory and US GAAP reporting while maintaining strong controls and compliance.

This hands-on leadership role includes ownership of accounting operations, financial reporting, forecasting, audits, and regulatory compliance. You will also drive the transition of accounting activities in-house, streamline processes, and build scalable ways of working. Success requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, stakeholder management, and the ability to collaborate effectively across India and the US.

Responsibilities

  • Own the India entity’s month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting under US GAAP and Indian statutory requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end accounting operations for the Gurgaon entity, ensuring strong accounting discipline, effective processes, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Prepare and review US GAAP and statutory financial statements and management reporting, providing clear insights to Corporate Accounting and business leadership.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the India entity, partnering with stakeholders to develop accurate outlooks and identify key business drivers.
  • Deliver cash flow, variance, and other financial analysis, translating results into actionable insights and proactively highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership and judgment on complex transactions, accounting matters, and changes in US GAAP and Indian accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a strong compliance environment across Indian statutory, tax, and US GAAP requirements, ensuring obligations are met accurately and on time.
  • Lead statutory and corporate audits end-to-end, serving as the primary accounting contact for auditors and coordinating timely responses, deliverables, and resolution of audit findings.
  • Own and strengthen the financial control environment, designing, implementing, and monitoring controls that support accurate reporting and compliance with corporate policies.
  • Lead the transition of accounting activities in-house, establishing scalable processes, documentation, and operating rhythms that enable an efficient and sustainable local accounting function.
  • Drive continuous improvement across accounting operations, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.
  • Prioritize competing deliverables and resolve complex issues independently, using sound judgment and proactively escalating risks or decisions when appropriate.
  • Partner effectively with Corporate Accounting and cross-functional stakeholders in the US and India, building trust through clear, proactive communication and strong execution.
  • Build, coach, and develop the local accounting team, creating a high-performing function with clear accountability, strong technical capabilities, and capacity to scale.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
  • 15+ years of progressing accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years leading financial close, reporting, forecasting, compliance, audits, internal controls and accounting teams.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of Indian statutory accounting, taxation, US GAAP, and multinational reporting including local-to-US GAAP reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Proven experience building, mentoring and developing local accounting teams including recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
  • Experience in a trading environment with expertise in inventory accounting, costing, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, imports, and customs compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with SOX compliance or equivalent internal control frameworks, including control design, documentation and audit remediation.
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting service providers within a global corporate accounting structure and driving transition to in-house operations
  • Proficiency with ERP, consolidation, reporting tools and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Preferred

  • Hold a master’s or postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • Have led migration of accounting work from outsourced/SSC to in-house team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
