The posting

Position Summary:

MacroHealth is building out its FP&A function and is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as the analytical and reporting engine of the team. Reporting to the Senior Director, FP&A, this role owns the recurring production layer of financial planning: the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle, the mechanics of the rolling forecast, and the reporting infrastructure that makes both faster and more reliable.

This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. FP&A at MacroHealth is early, which means the person in this seat will help stand up the models, dashboards, and processes rather than inherit a mature system. The right candidate is technically strong in Excel, FP&A planning tools, leverages AI tools like Claude to work more efficiently, comfortable working with imperfect data, and motivated by turning manual reporting into durable, automated infrastructure.

Success in the first year looks like a reporting cycle that runs on schedule without heroics, a forecast model the Senior Director trusts without re-checking, and at least two recurring manual processes retired through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning, Forecasting & Business Partnering (approx. 50%)

- Own the mechanics of the rolling monthly and quarterly forecast, including model maintenance, input collection from budget owners, version control, and actuals loads.

- Refine and maintain the annual operating plan model and support the multi-year strategic plan build.

- Run scenario mechanics against assumptions set by the Senior Director, including growth cases, cost optimization, and hiring pacing.

- Build and maintain cash flow and runway schedules that roll forward without manual rebuild.

- Partner with functional managers and directors on budget ownership, spend tracking, and variance explanations

- Work closely with Accounting and the Controller on close timing, accruals, and the actuals that feed reporting and the forecast

- Translate financial results into plain language for non-finance stakeholders

- Surface emerging risks and opportunities to the Senior Director early rather than at cycle close

Reporting and Analysis (approx. 30%)

- Produce the monthly and quarterly financial reporting package, including budget-to-actual variance analysis with written commentary that explains drivers, not just deltas.

- Support the CFO and Senior Director on Board and investor materials, owning the supporting schedules, exhibits and backup with a high bar for data integrity and quality control.

- Calculate and refresh marketplace and recurring revenue metrics, including ARR, churn, retention, CAC, LTV, contribution margin, and cohort analysis.

- Track healthcare marketplace performance indicators such as payer adoption, platform utilization, and savings performance.

- Deliver ad hoc analysis and data requests for Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.

Systems, Automation and AI (approx. 20%)

- Build, enhance and maintain FP&A reporting, including executive dashboards and KPI reporting, for all relevant stakeholders, leveraging NetSuite and our FP&A planning tool.

- Use Claude to speed up recurring work such as drafting variance commentary, reconciling data, building and checking model logic, and documenting processes, with the same review standard applied to AI output as your own

- Identify and eliminate manual steps in the close-to-report and forecast cycles through automation, AI-assisted workflows, and better data structure.

- Document processes, metric definitions, and calculation methodology, so reporting is repeatable and auditable.

Qualifications:

Experience

- 3-5 years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, or a comparable analytical finance role.

- Exposure to SaaS, healthcare technology, or another recurring revenue environment is a plus. Payer market or healthcare marketplace experience is rare at this level and we don't expect it.

- You've contributed to a recurring reporting package or variance analysis that went to a senior audience, not necessarily owned it end to end.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field required.

- CPA, CFA, or MBA progress is viewed favorably but not required.

Technical Skills:

- Advanced Excel. You can work inside a model you didn't build, trace a formula chain, handle large data sets, and structure a build so the next person can follow it.

- Exposure to an ERP and FP&A planning tools, with NetSuite and spreadsheet-based planning tools being a plus; we'll teach them if you haven't used them.

- Hands-on use of AI tools (Claude or similar) in analytical work is a strong plus, e.g., drafting commentary, checking formulas, speeding up data prep, or automating repetitive steps. Tell us how you've used it. SQL is a plus. Python or VBA is a bonus, not an expectation.

- Some familiarity with subscription or transaction-based revenue models. Cohort analysis is teachable.

Attributes:

- High accuracy with strong self-review habits. Catches errors before a reviewer does.

- Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete data. Asks rather than assumes.

- Strong written communication. Can explain a variance in three sentences.

- Curious about the business, not only the numbers.

- Operates with urgency and follows through without reminders.

Compensation:

The expected base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 USD annually. This range reflects the good-faith minimum and maximum MacroHealth reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay within this range depends on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and, where permitted, geographic location. This role is eligible for an equity offering, comprehensive benefits package, and a potential annual discretionary bonus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
