Sous Chef for Mad & Kaffe Aarhus

This October, Mad & Kaffe is opening its first café in Aarhus, and we're looking for an ambitious and passionate Sous Chef to help build our kitchen from day one.

This is more than just another kitchen job. It's an opportunity to become part of the opening team, shape the daily operations, and help create the culture, standards, and guest experience that will define Mad & Kaffe Aarhus from the very beginning.

At Mad & Kaffe, we believe great food starts with great craftsmanship. We work with fresh, seasonal ingredients, prepare everything in-house, and take pride in serving food of consistently high quality in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is everything.

About the role

As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef and play a key role in the daily operation of the kitchen. You'll help ensure smooth service, maintain high culinary standards, and support the development of a strong and motivated kitchen team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily kitchen operations and service
  • Maintaining consistency and quality in every dish
  • Ordering and stock management
  • Planning preparation and organizing the kitchen
  • Leading and motivating the team during service
  • Supporting, coaching, and developing junior team members
  • Helping create a positive, structured, and professional kitchen culture

About you

You're passionate about food, leadership, and teamwork. You enjoy taking responsibility, thrive in a busy kitchen, and stay calm and focused when the pace is high.
