Vision Transport is seeking an experienced TMW (Trimble TruckMate) Subject Matter Expert to join our team on-site in Mississauga, ON. In this role, you will serve as the crucial operational bridge between daily transportation business processes and TMW software capabilities.

Working directly alongside dispatchers, brokerage specialists, and administrative teams, you will optimize TruckMate workflows, customize user interface screens, build complex database reports, and streamline operational procedures. You will report directly to Vision Transport Administration while maintaining alignment with Manitoulin Group of Companies (MGC) Shared IT Services, strictly adhering to ISO 27001 ISMS policies and corporate Change Management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Workflow Optimization & Business Process Alignment

  • Partner directly with Vision Transport dispatchers, brokerage personnel, and warehousing staff to map current workflows and identify operational bottlenecks.
  • Leverage native TruckMate customization capabilities (table-driven settings, menu options, custom fields, and layout modifications) to streamline screen flows and boost user productivity.
  • Translate business requirements into functional software setups without relying on unnecessary custom programming.

2. Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Analyze TruckMate database schemas and data structures to develop, optimize, and maintain custom operational and executive management reports.
  • Utilize SQL, Crystal Reports, SSRS, or SAP BusinessObjects to provide actionable insights for freight brokerage, asset utilization, and warehousing metrics.
  • Ensure custom queries and reports are optimized to prevent performance degradation on the underlying DB2 database infrastructure.

3. IT Governance, Security & Change Management

  • Adhere strictly to Manitoulin Group of Companies' Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies and ISO 27001:2022 security controls.
  • Follow formal IT Change Management procedures by thoroughly testing and vetting all system changes, interface configurations, and new reports in the Development environment prior to production release.
  • Collaborate with MGC Shared IT teams (Infrastructure, Development, EDI) to request vendor SOWs (e.g., Trimble EDI configurations) or specialized environment support.

4. End-User Support & Training

  • Provide hands-on, in-office support and functional guidance to operational staff regarding best practices within TMW TruckMate.
  • Develop user documentation and conduct training sessions for staff on new workflow enhancements, report usage, and system updates.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Trimble TruckMate Expertise: Minimum 3+ years of direct experience administering, supporting, and optimizing Trimble TruckMate (TMW) in a transportation environment. Experience with recent releases (v24/v25+) preferred.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of freight brokerage operations, asset-based trucking, and warehousing concepts, terminology, and workflows.
  • Technical & SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL query development skills and demonstrated experience in database schema navigation and custom report writing.
  • Business Analysis: Proven capability to translate complex operational feedback from dispatchers and managers into efficient software workflow solutions.
  • On-Site Availability: Ability to work full-time on-site at the Mississauga, ON office. Work can be performed remotely as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating within an ISO 27001 certified environment or structured ITIL change management framework.
  • Familiarity with DB2 database structures and basic query execution plan optimization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
