Marketing Specialist

Marick Mechanical, an Orion Services Group company | Location: Omaha, NE

Department: Marketing | Reports To: TBD | FLSA: Exempt | Travel: As Needed

Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist owns day-to-day coordination and execution of Marick Mechanical’s marketing initiatives, with primary accountability for external marketing vendors, search engine optimization (SEO), and company website content, accuracy, and performance. This role connects marketing priorities to measurable business outcomes, strengthens Marick’s digital presence across its HVAC/mechanical, refrigeration, and plumbing trade lines and every branch market, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within approved budgets, and consistent with brand standards. Working with business leaders and external partners, the Marketing Specialist independently evaluates competing priorities, recommends campaign and website improvements, and manages marketing workflows from planning through implementation and performance review.

Mission of the Role

Ensure Marick’s brand and digital channels are accurate, visible, effective, and professionally managed translating business priorities into coordinated vendor deliverables, improved organic search performance, and a reliable website experience that lives up to our Customer Standard: Built on Trust. Proven by the Work.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Vendor Management & Project Coordination

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for external marketing agencies, SEO specialists, website developers, designers, printers, and other approved vendors.
  • Define project briefs, scopes, deliverables, milestones, and performance expectations; coordinate reviews and approvals with internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate vendor work for quality, brand consistency, timeliness, and business value; identify gaps, give candid and specific feedback, request revisions, and recommend corrective actions or changes in approach.
  • Track marketing project schedules, spending against approved budgets, invoices, and key vendor commitments; flag material cost or scope changes for approval before they are committed, in line with Marick’s finance approval policies.
  • Maintain a centralized marketing calendar and organized records of campaigns, creative assets, vendor agreements, and deliverables.

SEO & Digital Visibility

  • Coordinate and help execute SEO initiatives, including on-page optimization, metadata, keyword targeting, internal linking, technical SEO remediation, and local search improvements.
  • Partner with SEO vendors to review keyword rankings, organic traffic, search visibility, technical site health, and lead-generation performance.
  • Maintain accurate location, service, and business information across relevant search listings and local digital profiles, including Google Business Profiles.
  • Assess SEO recommendations and prioritize improvements based on potential customer impact, market needs, available resources, and expected return.
  • Identify content gaps and opportunities to improve visibility for Marick’s HVAC/mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, and service offerings, with particular attention to the refrigeration and plumbing lines

Website Maintenance, Content & User Experience

  • Own the routine maintenance and ongoing accuracy of the company website, coordinating updates with approved technical vendors when needed.
  • Publish, edit, and quality-check service pages, location pages, news, staff information, calls to action, forms, links, and other approved website content.
  • Monitor website functionality, mobile usability, accessibility considerations, page performance, and contact or lead-routing issues; coordinate timely resolution.
  • Partner with operations, sales, and branch leadership to validate technical accuracy of published services, markets, capabilities, and project information.
  • Use website analytics and conversion data to recommend and implement improvements to navigation, content, landing pages, and lead capture.

Campaigns, Brand & Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate digital and traditional marketing campaigns, collateral, presentations, promotional materials, and employer-brand content as business needs require.
  • Capture and publish real crew and job stories in partnership with branch leaders, so trustworthy people doing meaningful work, not stock imagery, are the face of the Marick brand.
  • Maintain consistent brand identity, approved messaging, and creative standards across vendor-produced and internally produced materials, including brand guidelines, the Fleet Design System, apparel, and the transition of legacy names such as Bieg Plumbing to the Marick Mechanical brand across web and local listings.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and local leaders to gather input, manage requests, and align marketing activity to the Commercial Growth Engine
  • and recruiting priorities.
  • Develop clear status updates, summarize results, and present actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve vendor effectiveness, and strengthen marketing processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A resourceful, detail-oriented marketing professional who gives partners candid feedback, takes responsibility for budgets and deadlines, owns digital marketing performance end to end, partners closely with the field, and puts the customer first in every piece of content. Someone who lives Marick’s CROPS values and is proud their name is on the work.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in marketing coordination, digital marketing, website management, or a related role.
  • Practical knowledge of SEO concepts, website content management systems, analytics, and digital marketing performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate vendors, manage project timelines, evaluate deliverables, and communicate priorities.
  • Strong copyediting, organizational, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise discretion in prioritizing marketing initiatives, and make informed recommendations within established budgets and brand guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, and a CMS such as WordPress.
  • Experience in B2B services, commercial HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical contracting, construction, or multi-location businesses.
  • Working knowledge of paid search, email marketing, CRM/lead attribution, and basic HTML or website QA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Core Competencies

  • Vendor accountability and project ownership; SEO and website optimization; business judgment and prioritization.
  • Brand stewardship and written communication; analytical reporting and continuous improvement; cross-functional collaboration.

Reporting Relationship & Work Expectations

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
