The Inside Sales Representative is primarily responsible for managing customer relationships and supporting commercial transactions while ensuring exceptional customer service and accurate order processing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain commercial relationships with existing accounts and ensure customer database accuracy.
  • Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner while coordinating with Sales, Finance, Operations, and other internal departments.
  • Verify pricing and order terms using established pricing guidelines and published pricing sheets.
  • Prepare and distribute Sales Order Acknowledgements and other required customer documentation.
  • Attend production meetings and collaborate with Operations to monitor order status, communicate schedule changes, and escalate critical customer concerns.
  • Process customer credits and complaints in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to resolve issues related to purchase orders, shipments, invoicing, and product quality.
  • Develop product knowledge to provide accurate quotations and support customer inquiries.
  • Serve as a backup for other Inside Sales team members as needed.
  • Participate in Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, safety, quality, and government sanction screening requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of sales, customer service, or related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to develop, maintain, merge, and analyze spreadsheets and data.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a primarily sedentary environment, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing personnel in a production environment that may be noisy.
  • Ability to follow safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE when required.
