Department: TCW Physical Rehab Services - EDH Shift: Primarily Days (United States of America) Employee Type: Regular Per Diem Type (if applicable): Minimum Pay Range: $28.85 - $34.61 Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) supports the delivery of timely, compassionate, and effective care to patients receiving rehabilitation services. The ATC assists Physical and Occupational Therapists with patient care and provides early intervention for patients recovering from post-injury or post-operative conditions. Within their scope of practice, the ATC assesses patient needs and uses appropriate modalities and interventions to address pain, inflammation, mobility restrictions, and educational needs prior to or in coordination with formal therapy services. Interventions may include taping and wrapping techniques, vasopneumatic compression, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, exercise, blood flow restriction, and patient education. The ATC also monitors patients for post-injury or post-operative medical concerns and appropriately responds to identified red flags. Through these responsibilities, the ATC promotes continuity of care, supports therapy services, and contributes to positive patient outcomes and satisfaction. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: · Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required. · Master’s degree preferred. · Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC). · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Knowledge/Experience: · Two (2) years of experience working in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, or rehabilitation settings required. · Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. · Knowledge of orthopedic injuries and post-injury/surgical rehabilitation/protocols. · Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist in the provision of care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the outpatient setting. · Knowledge of rehabilitation services and their role in recovery from injury, surgery, and illness. · Background in sports injury management and sports performance through active participation, coaching and/or training. Skills: · Experience with therapeutic exercise instruction and functional movement training. · Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite. · Ability to recognize distress signs and other unusual conditions during therapy. · Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. · Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented clinical environment. · Ability to read, write and speak in the English language. · Excellent communication and customer service skills with a strong sense of teamwork. · Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and effectively manage and prioritize conflicting demands in a fast-paced clinic environment. · Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while assisting in the delivery of care for all patient populations. · Ability to follow isolation procedures including wearing isolation masks when indicated.
