The posting

Help customers put radar technology to work—and turn field experience into better products.

MatrixSpace develops AI-enabled radar and sensing systems that help people understand what's happening in the world around them. By combining advanced radar, edge computing, and AI, we deliver situational awareness in environments where traditional sensing solutions struggle.

We're looking for a Customer Solutions Field Engineer who learns quickly, enjoys hands-on problem-solving, and wants to work directly with customers. You'll help deploy and troubleshoot our sensor systems while translating customer needs into clear requirements for our platform software teams.

If you're technically curious, resourceful, and comfortable working directly with customers, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Help customers and partners deploy radar systems, from assessing sensor placement, coverage, and networking to installation, configuration, calibration, and acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot field issues across RF, hardware, software, and networking. Follow problems through resolution, bringing in engineering expertise when needed and keeping customers informed.
  • Translate customer applications and field observations into clear system and platform software requirements, working with engineering teams to clarify expected behavior and validate solutions.
  • Test system performance and new capabilities in the field, including work involving drones and aircraft, and document results that help engineering improve the product.
  • Train customers to configure, operate, and troubleshoot their systems, and create practical deployment and support documentation.
  • Partner with engineering and technical sales to prepare for demonstrations and deployments and surface recurring customer needs.

What We're Looking For

This position requires working directly or indirectly with the US Government in restricted environments. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance in the future.

Required

  • Up to 3 years of relevant technical experience working with RF, wireless, radar, sensing, electronic, or similarly complex systems in real-world environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, with a foundation in RF systems or computer networking.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar technology quickly and apply engineering fundamentals to practical problems. Recent graduates with relevant projects, internships, or research are welcome.
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting: gather evidence, isolate causes, test solutions, and recognize when to ask for help.
  • Clear communication with technical and nontechnical audiences, including explaining system behavior and documenting customer needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to perform field testing approximately 20% of the time, primarily near Hoffman Estates.

Someone Who Will Thrive in This Role

  • Gets hands-on with unfamiliar equipment and asks focused questions to build understanding quickly.
  • Takes responsibility for the next step and follows through until an issue is resolved.
  • Stays resourceful when customer environments or field conditions differ from the plan.
  • Looks beyond an individual support issue to understand what it reveals about the system.

Bonus Points

  • Practical RF engineering or networking experience, including antennas, propagation, interference, connectivity, or network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with radar, wireless systems, sensors, drones, or robotics.
  • Customer-facing technical support, deployment, or training experience.
  • Experience translating user needs into engineering requirements or supporting government, defense, public-safety, or security customers.

Your field experience will help customers succeed today and shape what our engineering teams build next. If that sounds exciting, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
