At MCG, we lead the healthcare community to deliver patient-focused care. We have a mission-driven team of talented physicians and technical experts developing our evidence-based content and innovating our products to accelerate improvements in healthcare. If you are driven to enhance the US healthcare system, MCG is eager to have you join our team. We cultivate a work environment that nurtures personal and professional growth, and this is a thrilling time to become a part of our organization. With dynamic roles that offer meaningful impact, you'll be able to fully realize your potential. Plus, you'll enjoy world-class benefits and the security, stability, and resources of our parent company, Hearst, with over 100 years of experience.

The Product Manager II owns outcomes for a meaningful product area, often across larger epics, a sustained roadmap slice, or a major capability. This role serves as product owner for a delivery team and connects customer insight, roadmap choices, backlog priorities, delivery execution, and measurable business outcomes.

This role defines and leads execution of portions of product strategy with input from a lead Product Manager, manager, or senior product leader. The Product Manager II is trusted to make product decisions with moderate ambiguity, ground recommendations in customer evidence, and begin evangelizing priorities across cross-functional partners.

You Will:

  • Serve as product owner for a delivery team responsible for a meaningful product area, major capability, or sustained roadmap slice.
  • Work collaboratively with industry vendor partners to design new capabilities and iron out dependencies on external vendors.
  • Define product objectives, roadmap recommendations, and outcome measures for the assigned area in alignment with broader product and company strategy.
  • Lead customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis, regulatory research, and workflow analysis to identify customer problems and product opportunities.
  • Translate ambiguous customer, business, clinical, operational, and technical needs into clear product direction, epics, requirements, and prioritized backlog work.
  • Make product tradeoff decisions involving scope, sequencing, customer impact, risk, delivery constraints, and business value.
  • Build lightweight business cases and investment recommendations for major features, enhancements, or product area improvements.
  • Partner with engineering, design, clinical, data, security, compliance, customer success, implementation, marketing, and sales to deliver outcomes through the delivery team.
  • Define and monitor KPIs such as adoption, engagement, workflow impact, quality, retention risk, revenue enablement, or operational efficiency.
  • Influence go-to-market, support readiness, enablement, and customer communication for the assigned product area.
  • Evangelize product priorities and customer insight with cross-functional partners so teams understand the problem, direction, and intended outcome.
  • Establish and refine product management practices, backlog governance, or delivery approaches that improve execution quality and consistency within the assigned product domain.
  • Mentor less experienced Product Managers through informal coaching, review of product work, and example-setting.
  • Apply AI-assisted product workflows to discovery, synthesis, prototyping, workflow analysis, technical collaboration, and product definition.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Human-Centered Design, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in product management or equivalent product ownership experience.
  • Track record of launching features, capabilities, or product improvements with measurable customer or business impact.
  • Knowledge of HL7© FHIR Implementation Guides for Coverage Requirements Discovery (CRD), Documentation Templates & Rules (DTR), and Prior Authorization Support (PAS) is strongly preferred
  • Ability to write clear product requirements for complex product areas and guide delivery teams through prioritization and delivery.
  • Sound judgment when customer needs, revenue opportunity, usability, compliance, data quality, security, technical constraints, and delivery capacity are in tension.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a significant product area, major capability, or roadmap domain through the full product lifecycle.
  • Strong experience leading customer discovery and synthesis of ambiguous input, workflow analysis, market research, competitive analysis, and prioritization for moderately complex product initiatives.
  • Experience developing business cases, defining success metrics, and using qualitative and quantitative data to guide product decisions.
  • Ability to communicate product direction and tradeoffs to technical, clinical, operational, commercial, and leadership audiences.
  • Fluency with AI-powered tools and products; able to use AI-assisted workflows for product discovery, synthesis, prototyping, and technical collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare technology, enterprise software, data products, or workflow products preferred.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare workflows, utilization management, payer or provider operations, clinical decision making, interoperability, or related healthcare market dynamics preferred.
  • Proven ability working in a market-facing product role (customer-facing and / or industry partner-facing) is preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
