The posting

The Global Technology Sourcing team owns the strategic sourcing strategy, external business relationships, and internal engineering partnerships to drive supply chain execution from new product ideation to deployments at scale. The team combines commercial and technical sourcing expertise, along with manufacturing expertise, to advance in critical infrastructure domains, including artificial intelligence, custom silicon development, and power & cooling technologies. To support our 3.8B+ users, Meta develops and deploys scale infrastructure globally, across data centers, networks, compute, and storage.

Meta is seeking an industry expert that develops disruptive strategies to optimize the economics and risk profile for our data center portfolio. Critically, the candidate possesses the business acumen and technical depth to influence infrastructure product strategy and drive industry level change. In this role, the candidate will drive supply enablement for disruptive and next-generation power generation, energy storage, and power distribution, from the utility substation to the rack, inclusive of backup power and resiliency schemes - identifying and evaluating the suppliers capable of building what Meta's future data centers require, often before those products exist, validating the total cost of ownership case, and ensuring those suppliers can ramp to Meta's needs. The candidate will partner with R&D Engineering and Product Development teams to identify the emerging power challenges of future data center designs and to drive the supply chain technology roadmap and time to market for leading power technologies. The candidate will also partner with commercial sourcing managers, manufacturing & component quality engineers, and demand/supply managers in an integrated product team to execute on these strategies and deliver best value for Meta.

Responsibilities

  • Drive supply enablement for disruptive and next-generation power technologies, partnering with R&D Engineering and Product Development teams to identify the emerging power challenges of future data center designs and define the supply strategy that brings viable products to market on Meta's timeline
  • Lead front-end supplier identification and evaluation, assessing new and emerging suppliers as well as established manufacturers entering new domains, and fostering new technical relationships for Meta
  • Influence supplier technology roadmaps to ensure Meta's architectural and technical requirements are met, in conjunction with a cross-functional team. Lead the creation and definition of future technology directions with cross-functional partners
  • Influence internal infrastructure product direction both commercially and technically to yield optimal data-driven results. Provide technical, supplier expertise and consulting to cross-functional partners for technology migration and lower TCO
  • Own the total cost of ownership case for emerging power technologies, validating that new solutions are economically viable at Meta scale before the company commits to them
  • Assess and develop supplier capability to ramp across manufacturing scale, process maturity, tooling, and material readiness, and develop supplier technical process improvement plans to improve quality, manufacturing scale, cost and time to deployment
  • Provide technical review and analysis, and responses to supplier proposals and RFx's. Resolve all technical queries arising from the quote process
  • Own technical expertise in supplier negotiations and provide review/input for product development including statement of work, capacity agreements, and master supply agreements
  • Develop domain strategies to yield optimal economic and supply risk outcomes for technology infrastructure, maintaining current knowledge of technology and industry trends and performing competitive analysis on relevant products
  • Drive in-depth technical relationships with external partners at the leadership level, and partner with other Meta orgs to represent Meta at industry events and forums

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of technical experience in engineering, product management, or supply chain organizations within data center providers, utilities, power electronics, electrical equipment manufacturing, or associated infrastructure-related industries
  • In-depth knowledge of the power technology market and global supply base, including incumbent and emerging manufacturers of power generation, energy storage, and power distribution equipment
  • Experience with local grid optimization, modular & pre-fabricated build solutions, and energy storage and backup power solutions
  • Familiarity with electrical industry regulations and utility standards
  • Experience identifying, qualifying, and developing new suppliers, including technical capability assessment and manufacturing process qualification
  • Experience influencing supplier technology roadmaps and driving new product development or qualification with suppliers
  • Experience assessing supplier technical and manufacturing capability and driving capacity ramp against volume commitments
  • Experience partnering with engineering, research and development, or advanced technology teams to translate technical requirements into supply chain strategy
  • Experience communicating technical and supply chain recommendations to cross-functional leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • Experience across medium- and high-voltage distribution, on-site power generation, or grid interconnection technologies
  • Experience with energy management, power quality, controls and monitoring software solutions
  • Familiarity with data center cooling technologies, including liquid cooling
  • Experience leading or participating in industry consortia, standards bodies, or open hardware initiatives
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or cloud data center infrastructure programs through technology transitions
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
