Overview

The Modern Analytics & Insights organization enables data-driven decision making across Small, Medium, Enterprise & Channel (SME&C) by delivering trusted business intelligence, actionable insights, and scalable analytical capabilities.

SME&C is one of Microsoft’s largest and fastest-growing businesses, focused on empowering customers through the Microsoft Cloud. Within the global SME&C Analytics organization, this role will specifically support the Corporate Accounts business, with a primary focus on Corporate Accounts Intelligence Platform (CAIP) and Azure business intelligence and analytics.

We are seeking a Business Analytics Specialist to own and evolve key business intelligence (BI) and analytical capabilities supporting Corporate Accounts. The role will be responsible for translating Corporate Accounts business priorities into scalable reporting, semantic models, and analytical products that enable leaders and field organizations to understand business performance and take action.

The successful candidate will play a hands-on role across the analytics lifecycle, from understanding business questions and defining metrics through designing semantic models, developing BI solutions, validating data, and driving adoption.

A major focus of the role will be CAIP and the Corporate Accounts Azure analytical experience, including ensuring that Azure performance, customer trends, pipeline and execution signals, and business outcomes are represented through a consistent, trusted analytical framework.

The role will also contribute to the broader evolution of SME&C’s data and analytics architecture by building reusable semantic models, reducing fragmented reporting, improving data quality and performance, and preparing analytical assets for self-service and AI-enabled experiences.

Approximately 60% of the role will focus on Corporate Accounts BI, including CAIP and Azure analytics, with approximately 40% focused on semantic models, data architecture, AI readiness, and self-service analytics enablement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary analytics partner for the Corporate Accounts CAIP business, developing an understanding of its business priorities, performance drivers, customer segments, sales motions, and execution model.
  • Own and evolve BI experiences supporting Corporate Accounts CAIP and Azure analytics, ensuring leaders and field stakeholders have trusted and actionable views of business performance.
  • Develop and maintain executive scorecards, dashboards, KPIs, business review views, and analytical products supporting Corporate Accounts.
  • Develop analytical experiences that help stakeholders understand Azure performance, growth trends, customer performance, pipeline and execution signals, and areas of business opportunity or risk.
  • Partner with Corporate Accounts business leaders, Sales Excellence, Finance, Strategy, and Operations teams to define reporting requirements, metrics, analytical priorities, and success measures.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions rather than one-off reports or analyses.
  • Proactively identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities and communicate them through clear analytical narratives.
  • Ensure CAIP and related reporting experiences provide consistent definitions and reconcile appropriately across executive, field, and operational views.
  • Continuously improve the usability, performance, and relevance of Corporate Accounts BI based on stakeholder needs and changing business priorities.

Data Architecture, Semantic Models & AI Readiness

  • Design, develop, and maintain the semantic models and analytical data products that underpin Corporate Accounts, CAIP, and Azure reporting.
  • Build and optimize Power BI and Microsoft Fabric semantic models that provide a trusted foundation for Corporate Accounts BI, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled experiences.
  • Translate business concepts into well-structured dimensions, measures, hierarchies, relationships, and reusable analytical logic.
  • Establish consistent definitions for key Corporate Accounts metrics and ensure that business logic is implemented consistently across reporting experiences.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to improve source data quality, model scalability, refresh reliability, governance, and platform performance.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate semantic models, rationalize overlapping reporting assets, remove technical debt, and simplify the Corporate Accounts BI architecture.
  • Design analytical assets to support natural-language querying, Copilot-enabled experiences, agentic analytics, and other AI-driven analytical scenarios.
  • Ensure semantic models contain the appropriate definitions, metadata, relationships, descriptions, and business context required for both human and AI consumption.
  • Support certification of data assets and semantic models for enterprise use, ensuring they are trusted, governed, documented, and discoverable.
  • Monitor and continuously improve model performance, scalability, usability, and reliability.

Data Analysis & Business Evaluation

  • Analyze Corporate Accounts performance across multiple data sources to identify customer, product, sales, and execution trends.
  • Investigate performance changes and determine the underlying drivers behind business results.
  • Conduct deeper analysis where existing BI views identify potential risks, opportunities, or areas requiring further investigation.
  • Evaluate the impact of business initiatives, investments, programs, and changes in execution.
  • Develop repeatable analytical approaches rather than relying on one-time analyses.
  • Convert analysis into clear recommendations that business leaders can act upon.
  • Connect detailed analytical findings to broader Corporate Accounts and Azure business outcomes.

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

  • Build trusted relationships across Corporate Accounts leadership, Finance, Strategy, Sales Excellence, Operations, Engineering, and Analytics organizations.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand the decisions they need to make and determine the analytical capabilities required to support those decisions.
  • Challenge unclear or inconsistent metric definitions and help establish common analytical standards.
  • Translate complex business questions into data requirements, semantic model requirements, KPIs, and analytical experiences.
  • Communicate analytical findings and technical concepts effectively to both business and technical audiences.
  • Influence decisions through business understanding, analytical rigor, and fact-based recommendations.

Analytics Excellence & Innovation

  • Promote consistent analytics practices across Corporate Accounts, including metric governance, reporting standards, documentation, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Identify and eliminate duplicated or low-value reporting while increasing reuse of trusted semantic models and common analytical components.
  • Automate recurring analytical processes and reduce manual reporting wherever practical.
  • Evaluate new Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Copilot, and AI capabilities and apply them where they materially improve the Corporate Accounts analytics experience.
  • Support SME&C’s broader AI-first analytics strategy by ensuring Corporate Accounts data and semantic models can be safely consumed by both traditional BI and emerging AI experiences.

  • Experience building or optimizing solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience working with large or complex datasets and optimizing models for performance, usability, and scalability.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, data transformation, data quality, lineage, governance, and certification.
  • Experience consolidating fragmented semantic models or reporting solutions into reusable analytical foundations.
  • Understanding of how semantic models, metadata, business definitions, and data quality enable Copilot, natural-language analytics, and AI-agent scenarios.

Data Storytelling & Communication.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
