Overview

Microsoft Security works to make the world safer with solutions that help customers protect their people, data, devices, and cloud environments.

Within the Agentic Security Organization, we are building AI-powered capabilities that help defenders detect, investigate, and respond to threats with greater speed and precision, while keeping people in control of critical decisions. Security teams face more alerts than people can investigate. Across Data Platform & Graph and Agent Runtime & Orchestration in Perception Platform, we build the data foundations and runtime that help AI agents triage alerts, conduct multi-step investigations, and take governed action to support defenders. Agents operate with secure identities and clear boundaries, coordinate and hand off work, and recover from failures. Customers can see what each agent did and why

We are hiring Software Engineer II(s) + Senior Software Engineer(s) to build the services and experiences behind this next generation of security. Depending on the specific team, you may work on large-scale security data and graph capabilities, or on the platforms and workflows that enable security agents to reason, collaborate, and take governed action. You will write and operate production software, solve distributed-systems challenges, improve reliability and performance, and partner across engineering, product, and security research to turn complex technology into useful outcomes for defenders.

This is a shared opportunity across the teams led by David Weston and Pankaj Naik. The specific team and scope will be matched to your experience and interests through the hiring process. Whether you are growing your ownership of a service or leading the design and delivery of larger features, you will have the opportunity to build secure, dependable systems at Microsoft scale.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We bring a growth mindset to our work and build a culture of respect, integrity, accountability, and inclusion where everyone can thrive.

Senior Software Engineer(s)

  • Lead the design and delivery of significant data-platform, distributed data-service, or agent-runtime components from architecture through production operation.
  • Build and operate reliable batch or streaming pipelines and services that support security investigations, analytics, or graph-based workloads; make architectural trade-offs across data quality, performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Improve the scalability, security, observability, recovery, and operating cost of production services using telemetry, quality metrics, and customer feedback.
  • Own live-site health and incident response for your components. Partner across teams to resolve dependencies and mentor engineers through design and code reviews.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
