Overview

Microsoft Digital (MSD) builds and manages the products, services, and platforms that power Microsoft. By combining technical expertise, business insight, and operational experience, MSD enables employees and customers to be productive, secure, and effective through scalable digital solutions.

Digital Support and Services (DSS) within MSD delivers and evolves the service management platform that supports Microsoft's enterprise support ecosystem. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing ServiceNow capabilities that enable support organizations, including Global Helpdesk, to deliver efficient, scalable, and user-centered support experiences.

The position contributes to platform modernization through workflow automation, AI-enabled experiences, and integration across the Microsoft technology ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams, Power Platform, Azure, and other enterprise services. By connecting support operations with productivity and AI solutions, this role helps improve service delivery, self-service capabilities, and operational insights.

Working closely with engineering teams and support organizations, this role supports Microsoft's Digital First strategy by advancing platform capabilities, improving employee productivity, and enabling consistent support experiences at global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications and solutions aligned with platform best practices.
  • Administer and maintain ServiceNow configurations, workflows, data quality, and platform readiness using low-code and no-code capabilities.
  • Develop workflow automation using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and other ServiceNow platform capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions that support business objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop workflows, business rules, and automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and service reliability.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and enterprise integrations to support end-to-end business processes and data exchange.
  • Manage platform security, user and group access, roles, role relationships, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Azure cloud-native application design, development, and deployment.
  • Experience delivering AI-powered business solutions that enhance productivity, automation, and user experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Vendor Risk Management (VRM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) implementation and support.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, distributed systems, API integration, and engineering best practices.
  • Problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
